One of the things that scared and worried me the most was the lack of communication and information. It's true that a radio can be used, but I think it would provide very limited information. So I've been thinking about what's happening in the war in Ukraine and how they're handling communication.
I've never looked at what satellite communication might be like or how much it might cost. I looked at Starlink services and was surprised to find their cost quite competitive. It's not too expensive, although the service may be somewhat limited. The biggest problem would be the installation, but for that, I'll convince my boyfriend to climb up onto the roof.
