I am not religious and I don’t intend to sound like one. Religion is a different ball game to having a personal relationship with God. While some people may beg to differ, well we all are entitled to what we think or believe so no hard feeling.
I saw a very short post where someone snapped a picture of their city in the night with a sign of the cross saying try praying. It was a neon sign and the person was asking for what people thought about the sign and the idea of praying.
Well, many people went other the post and was making their comments but my interest was caught by a rather derogatory comment on prayer. The commenter said he doesn’t pray but rather he uses his senses or brain.
Well, I was also bold enough drop my own opinion and I talked about how I believe in the power of prayer and how I pray about everything and yet it doesn’t stop me from making use of my brain and reasoning.
I don’t know how people see prayer but there’s a supreme being who listens and hears our prayers and also answers them. Prayer from my perspective is simply a show of humility. It’s telling God that you can’t do it all and you need help.
Someone said that a proud man does not pray and that’s true. Well, if you don’t pray and your life has been working well for you, I am happy for you but for me, it’s basically how I breath and let off the burdens on my heart.
The confidence that I can talk to my maker and he hears and helps me is worth all it takes to talk to God. I have had practical real life situations where all I did was pray and that thing that seems so impossible happened.
When I need inspiration, I pray and it drops. When I need help, I pray and it comes in the least expected possible ways. When I am stranded, I pray and help comes. When I am heart broken, I pray and my broken heart receives healing.
When I am down, I pray and I am encouraged and lifted. When I am confused, I pray and I receive clearance. When I don’t know who to talk to, I talk to God. Well, many don’t even believe there’s a God, well that’s ok. I am simply trying to say that when you have tried everything else and it doesn’t work, try praying.
Though we always tend to pray when we have tried everything elsewhere, it’s actually not meant to be that way. Prayer wasn’t even meant to be our last resort, it was actually meant to our first but men would always be men right?
Why even try to struggle to do it all by yourself? Life is already hard. Instead of trying to do all by your strength, you can get an extra divine help when you try praying. Just saying. Try praying.
