Turning My Ideas to Custom GU Cards: AI Art

Greetings!

Gods Unchained is a really good card game for me personally. However, I wanted to make new cards that is different from the original cards that exist. I really liked making these kinds of cards personally. So, I decided to make 6 custom cards for Gods Unchained. But, since I am not that good at drawing, and (apparently) making prompt for AI art, I asked ChatGpt for the art of the card, and put those prompts into Bing to create it. This allowed me to get some crazy card arts, like the one on above.

It is also really fun to write opinion about the cards, as I make cards frequently and therefore my opinion can change frequently.

https://gucustom.cards/ was used to make cards.

All card art was AI generated by MS Bing.

With that, let's dive into the cards!!

Shadowgrinner (Deception)

Long ago, in the age before tribes were named and alliances were sworn, there existed an entity born with thought, memory, and mimicry. Known only in whispers as Shadowgrinner, it wandered the realms, learning the customs, speech, and powers of every living thing it encountered.

Shadowgrinner is a 4 mana 4/4 card. After entering the board, it chooses a tribe to be it. Then, it can delve a creature from that tribe, and add it to your hand. With manasurge 7, it summons it instead of adding it to your hand.

That is a very strong card here. I wanted to make something that uses the tribe mechanism more differently, so I added this card. Although this would more fit in the Neutrals, it can also see play in Deception. The Manasurge is very strong, as it would summon a possibly 3+ mana creature for free. Without it, it still provides value here.

Sword of the Light's God (Light)

Among relics, few carry the weight of celestial will quite like this one. With searing light and sharp decision trees, Sword of the Light’s God is not only a weapon, but an extension of divine justice. Whether you seek healing or destruction, this blade answers.

Sword of the Light's God is a 4 mana relic with 5/4. That alone is very high. After it attacks, this gains -1 strength, and you choose from one of three choices. The first one gives -2 health to your god, but gains +2 strength. The second one Destroys a friendly creature and deals 5 damage to an enemy. The last one is a -1/-1 board wipe, but you expand some mana if you destroy creatures.

Opinion: OP. 4 mana 5/4 is just too strong. Even if you have relic removal, it would still get some value out of it, using the second / last option. Theoretically, this card can be an OTK card if you can provide sufficient creatures every round, which Light can using their GP. So, I think the durability needs some nerf (4 -> 2)

Doomcaller (Death)

Legends say Doomcaller was once a mortal who peered too long into the abyss, calling upon death to punish his enemies. Now, whenever death ripples through the battlefield, Doomcaller feels it and grows closer, stronger, and cheaper.

Doomcaller is a rare card with 7/2 stat and 11 mana cost. It reduces mana cost by 1 when a creature enters your void, until the end of your turn. It destroys a random enemy creature when played & Destroyed.

Opinion: Hit or miss, but strong when played rightly. To actually be able to play this card, you would need at least 5~ creatures entering your void on your opponent's last turn or this turn. It's kind of easy using Obelisk / Zombie deck, but that's not really meta now. It is also a giant glass cannon with only 2 health, but I think Roar/Afterlife can guarantee a 2~3 to 1 trade.

The Leafcaller (Nature)

When war crept too close to the sacred glades, the trees whispered their warnings. And the Leafcaller emerged, not with fire or thorns, but with insight and guidance. Even the enemy was healed, for balance.

Leafcaller is a 5 mana 2/5 with Regan +2 and ward. It can search your whole deck for a nature card after you play your first nature card during your turn (which can include this card). Then, it heals a damaged enemy character for 3.

Opinion: SEARCH CARD FOR NATURE! Since nature lacks consistent search, this card definitely can help with searching the whole deck. The only downside is that it would be targeted ASAP. With only 5 health and ward, it won't survive more than 3 turns at most. But, if it can search 2 cards, you still gain value from this card. (compared to The Trial Begins) Of course, there is a possibility that this card just gets picked off.

Zephira Starbinder (Magic)

Known as the Starbinder, she watches the heavens as a composer, rearranging constellations with the grace of a divine mathematician. Each star is a note, each orbit a rhythm. Those who learn her name in the old tongues speak of dreams filled with spirals and forgotten prophecies.

Zephira Starbinder is a 5/4 card with 10 mana cost. It gets -2 mana cost for each spellboost. After played, it decreases a card's mana cost by 2, but increases GP's cost by 2 until the end of your turn.

Opinion: It has high probability to be OP, but I am not sure. You need 3+ Spellboost to actually play this card fast, which is hard in a combo deck. But, -2 mana cost is very good, even if it is just 2 turns, and you can't use GP for 2 turns. You can play those 7 mana cards in turn 5. But, since Spellboost is just niche, I think this card is fine as right now, or just needs to be expensive for a bit.

Thalric Ironfist (War)

Thalric Ironfist was once the Commander of the Legion of Dawn, a famed warrior known as much for his philosophical grit as his martial skill. Unlike others, Thalric valued thought in battle, often quoting poets as he smashed through enemy ranks.

Thalric Ironfist is a 3 mana 4/3 with Blitz. Both players draw a card when this card deals damage. But, you need to shuffle a random card from your hand into your deck.

Opinion: Balanced card (for me). The upside is fine here with 4/3 Blitz and +1 card, while the downside is shuffle a random card to deck and opponent draws a card.

And that is all the cards made! Same as last time, I was really having fun making these cards and coming up with the concepts. If you have opinions on cards, please comment them below! Thanks for reading
