My sister and I already agreed that I will come to her place after my second semester examination. The both of us are so close that we talk every now and then. Her name is Simi but we call her ChiChi because she looks like a female celebrity. After the examination, instead of me to have fun with my friends, I went straight to her place. ChiChi lives in Lagos while my school is nine hours away from Lagos so I left school immediately after my last exam and got to Lagos very late at night.
On getting to her house, I was so tired and could not even do anything nor eat. That was why we went to ChiChi’s shop very early in the morning so we could cook at the shop. The very first day at her shop, everything was very cool because their light was very stable. Chichi has a television in her shop so we could watch movies when we ain’t doing anything. Her shop was very comfortable that if I wanted to have a good sleep, I will surely have one. Things continued to go smoothly that until the fourth day.
We noticed that every other shop had light but there was no light in the plaza. When they checked, they found that the unit on their prepaid meter got exhausted so ChiChi and her shop members needed to save up for it.

They were four people paying for the light and there was a woman who volunteered to always go to make the transaction. I heard that this woman has been making the transaction for years. They call her Mama Alata because she sells pepper. They all saved up some money for the light but Mama Alata stepped out to attend to something.
Suddenly, the hair stylist beside ChiChi’s shop began to shout at Mama Alata’s kids. I guess she expected them to have bought the unit because a client has been waiting at her shop for thirty minutes and she has been waiting for the light to come on so she could attend to her client.
Out of anger, she said abusive words to Mama Alata’s kids.
”I thought we already saved the money for light and gave it to your mum. So, why hasn’t she made the transaction? Right now, I need to straighten my client’s hair but I can’t because there is no light. It’s better not to volunteer yourself when you know you ain’t capable of doing it. This is total rubbish and I won’t take it. Maybe you and your mum should return my money so I can do it by myself.
The kids didn’t say the word since they cannot face the hair stylist directly.
Chichi also did not say a word since what happened isn’t really out business but to our surprise, Mama Alata got back from where she went to and started to shout at ChiChi. Chichi and I were looking at each other because we were wondering what happened. We didn’t even complain that there was no light so why was she shouting? Immediately, her child came out to tell her that ChiChi wasn’t the one who shouted at her but the hair stylist.
She went to the shop of the hair stylist and they both shouted at each other even though ChiChi and I didn’t even even bother to stop them from shouting at each other because we were angry already.
After they finished shouting, Mama Alata came to our shop.
”Aunty ChiChi, I’m sorry. I didn’t know that you were not the one who shouted at my kids,” she said to Chichi.
*”I was angry but no more angry. You should have just made your findings very well before you begin to bark up the wrong tree but it’s fine,” ChiChi responded.
”I'm very sorry. I acted up because I volunteered to always make the transaction but a lot of people are taking me for granted and it makes no sense for her to speak to me like that but I’m sorry,” Mama Alata said to ChiChi and that was how the quarrel ended.

Honestly, ChiChi felt bad about the whole thing because she’s a very soft person and does not like any form of noise.
We closed for the day and went to the house because ChiChi’s day was ruined. When we got to to the shop the next day, everyone exchanged pleasantries and they all apologized to each other for what happened the previous day and Mama Alata promised to always make her findings so she will never make the mistake of barking up the wrong tree anymore.
