I Fought For The Whole Teachers.

in The Ink Welllast year

I’ve worked in so many environments. This is because I’m trying to make ends meet. If you currently ask me what I do for a living, I may not be able to tell because I do so many things for a living so let me just say that I do everything for a living.
I’m sure we all have our policies. If I’m working for someone or a group of people, I always learn to understand them very well and I always want them to understand me too so there won’t be any issues on the long run or in the future.

When I finished my high school final examination, instead of always sitting at home doing nothing, I decided to go out in search of a job. People like me then usually get a lot of teaching jobs but not in big schools. I don’t think big schools would ever allow someone who just graduated from high school to teach their kids in primary school so it’s better to go to small schools but also with lesser pay.
I never liked teaching job but one good thing about me is the fact that I always want to put so much energy in whatever I do so I did it like my life depended on it.

You can’t fully love everything about your workplace. There are so many things you won’t like but you may mostly look away because it is something you can manage or do with. Also, it isn’t good to keep mute all the time because it may be too late to complain even though we usually believe that nothing is ever too late.
There was one thing happening in the school that I never liked. I spoke with a few teachers like me but they made me realize that there was nothing they could do about it and they do not want their contracts to be terminated.

You must be wondering what the school does that I do not like. The school blames the teachers for everything. If a child portrays wrong actions, the child is to be taught the right thing to do but no, they ble the teachers for the slightest mistake a child could make. It’s absurd and made me feel they are making the children shy away from real life situations.
Unfortunately, the kids now do not know the difference between wrong and right. It’s true that they spend time with their parents but they spend more time with their teachers in school.

One day, a boy and a girl left my class to pee. They didn’t go at the same time so I never thought anything could happen. A teacher passed by the toilet and heard the voice of thse kids touching themselves. She brought them out of the toilet and began to spank them (not so hard). Not so long, the proprietor of the school came outside and began to yell at the teacher for spanking them. She told him what they kids did but he turned deaf ears and was about to fire her.

I was so angry and decided to confront the man. Yeah, I was the youngest teacher in the school but trust me, I was so brave. I made the man realize what he did was wrong. I fought so hard for them even if it was going to cost me my job.

I told the man If you cant make the kids understand real life situations, you’re fooling them and not helping them in any way. They are kids, they need to learn, they need to be taught with real life actions, if they are ever wrong, teach them how to be right, correct them.

That’s how to treat kids. That’s what they need. If you keep accepting the fact that they are very little and can always do what they like, they will keep making mistakes and they won’t be able to differentiate the right thing from the wrong thing.
Kids are meant to be taught some actions and behaviors from small or when they are little so they can grow with it and not just that everything will be done for them.

He was calm and went to his office. After the kids closed, he called a meeting and made me realize that he didn’t like the way I shouted at him but I’m glad he realized his mistakes and since then, he never did that again.
He changed the method of the schooling and helped the children to be more disciplined. A lot of teachers have lost their jobs due to the fact that they were scolding the kids but I’m glad I could fight for teachers like me and make that change.

Sort:

It a good thing he didn't try to fire you or both of you so that he can save his face. People are like this where they prioritize money over everything.

Just because the kids parents are paying the School doesn't mean they will have to pamper them in everything they. This is the way many private schools are nowadays. Hopefully we get to see soldiers like you that can step in whenever situation like this happens.

You’re very right here
Thanks for supporting my actions
