Roland was given a necklace by his mother a few years back. That night, Roland placed his mother’s head on his laps. She was not feeling too well and there was no money for hospital treatment. Suddenly, Roland’s mum took off the necklace on her and gave it to her son.
”My son, this is the dearest thing I have. I know we do not have money and this may be valueless but I’m giving you this from the depth of my heart,” she said this to her son.
She said this to her son and Roland was wondering why his mum was doing that. Unfortunately, she gave up a ghost at that minute.
”Mummy mummy! Wake up!!!,” Roland shouted so much trying to revive his mum’s life but she didn’t wake up. Ever since then, Roland has always worn the necklace and never tried to take it off. He sees it as a way to always remember his mum and it also very precious to him.
One day, Roland went out with his friends. They all went to the club to have fun but he’s a kind of guy who loves to step out to somewhere far from home. They trekked to the club, found a nice place to chill at and have fun.
After they left the club, Roland was very drunk and he was unconscious. His friends dragged him to the house and when he woke up in the morning, he noticed that something was odd. He looked into the mirror and didn’t find his necklace.
He tried to look for it everywhere in his house but couldn’t find it. He called his closest friend, Bayo whom they went to the club together.
”Hello guy. Please, did you help me find my necklace maybe when I got unconscious yesterday?,” Roland asked his friend, Bayo.
”No, I didn’t see it and I didn’t even take note of it,” Bayo said to Roland.
Immediately after the call, Roland started following the path they took when going to the club maybe he will find his necklace. He looked all around the path where they passed earlier but didn’t find it. He also went to the club and search the nook and cranny of the club but still did not find it.
”Oga, you can check the path you took when you were going back home and I remember that you were unconscious but I saw your friends take you through this part,” one of the club attendants said to Roland.
”Thanks so much. I’d take that path and get back to you,” Roland said to the club attendant and immediately took the path he was asked to take.
Roland began to walk carefully looking at the floor and trying to find the most precious thing to him. He was so worried and sweating profusely. While taking a walk to go find his necklace, he said to himself.
”I have no picture of my mother because she died when I was so young but this is the only memory of her that I can keep. I just hope I find this necklace and if I don’t, I may not forgive myself,” he said to himself and sat hopelessly on the floor.
He was rubbing his hands on his head while sitting on the floor and he sighted something golden. He never thought that could be his necklace because he already gave up on the necklace but guess what? It was his necklace.
Something just told him to move close to that golden thing dazzling from afar. He moved close to the necklace and he shouted, ”my necklace, my necklace. Thank you God.” Roland was so happy that he found the necklace.
He went back to the club and thanked the attendant who told him to take that path. He said to the attendant, ”If you didn’t tell me to take that path, I would not have found my necklace. Thanks so much for your help,” he said that to the attendant and called Bayo to tell him that he already found the necklace he’s looking for. He was really happy that the bar attendant told him to take that path and he may find his necklace.
”How did you find it?,” Bayo asked Roland.
”That bar attendant told me to take the path we took last night and I was already hopeless but to my surprise, I found it,” Roland responded to Bayo with happiness on his face. Since then, Roland never got too drunk again so he can always monito his precious necklace.
