Horror, comedy or romance movies: which one do you prefer and why?
Since we are little we forge our tastes, whether in food, clothes, games, colors and of course, movies.
I was an independent child since I can remember, I grew up in a working family and therefore my parents left me alone at home while they worked. I got used to answering the phone with a notebook next to me to write down who called and what message I wanted to leave, to not open the door to strangers and to a somewhat strange taste for children of that age: horror movies.
I did watch comedy and romance movies but my favorites were definitely the horror ones. I remember a Nickelodeon show called “You're Afraid of the Dark” and another one called “Shivers”, one of the episodes that scared me were the ones with the puppet and the living dolls.
Over the years horror movies have evolved, although in my opinion they don't make them like they used to. However, there are some very good psychological horror films. Korean movies have taken a big boom in the horror genre because they don't just play with special sound effects but with a good suspense plot.
I consider myself a fan of this genre and even though I'm scared I enjoy them, maybe I'm a masochist haha, but what would life be without some excitement and fear? I currently listen to some Mexican podcasts of horror stories, they are interesting.
