RE: Embracing the Future: The Dual Nature of AI Advancements

AI is great. A lot is uncertain for the future and that's always scary for everybody but I think the world will be fine like it has been for all the years. It's taking jobs but also giving new.

I wish I had AI during my time of studies. Not for cheating but at least can help gather my thoughts or give me some points to work around and maybe summarize articles as well lol

Yeah I agree with this but will these new jobs created be suitable for those that were displaced by AI? I highly doubt so. E.g. a cleaner, a dishwasher, those that were not as privilege in receiving proper education, how are they suppose to still find value in picking up jobs to make a living for themselves? 😕

Not so easy to say but I'm sure there will be ways. Governments could subsidize the education needed to get the skills to pick up jobs that AI can't do. There's things that can be done but they probably haven't been implemented yet because we aren't there yet ? I do know someone making an online platform for online education. Subscription based. It's like the air asia of e-learning. Anybody can learn at an affordable price. Only time will tell? I may be wrong these types of people you mentioned might get rekt. We do have a lot of homeless noawadays if that's the case i think we might just have more of those sadly x.x

Yeah and that is why there is fear that with my position and role I have at work, I do have a part in causing "harm" unintentionally.

I see I guess that makes sense x.x

Yeah it's been quite a struggle actually.

To automate processes, I need to first understand them by interviewing these people. While doing so, you can already sense the fear in them and their reservations in sharing the details because they too know that I am there to make changes that will ultimately to "take away" their jobs 😣

o.o no choice. company is to be efficient and make money leh $$$. If they want to stay they need to have the value ?

Yeah exactly but it is not as easy as it sounds.
Creating value when some of the employees are already nearing retirement age is not easy.
It is up to the company to see the value they bring in terms of work experiences.

oh if near retirement age usually cut off alr liao too expensive. most i see do grab driver after they get retired or laid off cuz near the retire age
