This reminds me of the expression: "hindsight is always 20/20"
When we look back we can see what we might have done differently to prepare for a future we couldn't see then. It sounds like you had a fulfilling career and I feel like you wouldn't have changed that even if you knew that future finances would be hard. I like that you have taken a positive approach to making the best of your position now too.

I think that the rewards of life that I obtained that are not quantifiable in money continue to make more weight on that scale, the ideal state would have been that my work and that of all educators in the country is well paid and that we can have a decent life without having to do other things to make a living, but I have learned to live with that situation and certainly, from that positive perspective I can be more grateful to life for all the blessings I have received in return.
