Are you useless? Explain why.

The way our ancestors and society itself think has made you feel useless. Why useless? Because there have always been people who like to do things that aren't what everyone else does, in order to conform to social norms. For example, if someone liked music and had the talent for it, their expressions were always considered "no good, you won't grow economically," as were people who liked painting, or any art form. Even writing was considered something of value.

Looking at it from this perspective, during my childhood and adolescence, the biggest intimidation was being labeled "useless."

Perhaps I experienced that feeling myself. I was labeled lazy, in other words, useless. I didn't like housework and I really struggled with it, but I did like to study. However, they made me feel like I wasn't good enough, so housework wasn't my thing.

When I left home, I learned to do many things, even cook, organized, if I always was and still am.

Until one day I understood, I realized I was doing a lot of things, going to college, working a job, supporting myself financially, so I told myself: I can do everything I've decided, I'm not useless, every day I learn a little more and I'm growing as a person. I realized that resting isn't a crime, neither is going for a walk to look at shops, eating ice cream when your paycheck is almost over... that process is truly a recognition of self-worth.

So, now I read or listen to podcasts where even medical scientists say that people need to get rid of that label of being useless, make a list of everything they do, that way they'll be aware of everything they do in a day, and that it's okay to spend a day doing nothing; their brain and soul will appreciate it. Because the body knows when it needs rest. When members of a society understand respect for human beings, that we are all different, things can be better.
