People keep talking about robotaxi. Many are shifting with the narrative. The problem is that it overlooked at the revenue generator that is before us.

In this video I discuss how FSD is the next revenue center. This will not take a lot to get $40 million in monthly profit. No matter what happens with the robotaxi, we are going to see FSD subscriptions adds to the profitability of the company by the start of the next quarter.

FSD has the potential to be a game changer. But I remember seeing that not all Tesla models can use it. If Tesla models are already limited by it, I wonder if it can be easily added to other manufacturer's cars.

They are limited, mostly by country/market. There are things to navigate. Also, the software isnt very good in many countries since there hasnt been massive penetration. We also have to take into account left versus right side steering wheels. This all have to be handled.

The hardware limitation is only to a few very early models. All from, I believe 2016 (but I might be wrong) are hardware compatible.

I see. So a lot of things still need to fall in place. If they can get Inference though, a lot of those problems are easily solved.

I'm struggling to think how they'd get $40M in monthly profit. That's huge.

According to a survey by Forbes, 93 percent of Americans have concerns about self-driving car safety, and 61 percent say they wouldn’t trust a self-driving car.

A driver using FSD killed a motorcyclist this week because FSD just didn't see the bike and the driver wasn't paying attention.

Look at the top stories for FSD:

People are constantly posting videos of FSD doing unpredictable things, and generally the take up rate of FSD is not huge because people get freaked out by phantom braking, etc and never use it again.

I honestly don't think it's going to generate that much revenue for Tesla in the long run. Even if it suddenly became amazing (which might not be possible) the public perception of FSD is terrible.

We saw the rise of Uber in the last decade and now RoboTaxi is upon us; it is amazing how trends keeps on changing from decades to decades.
