timbl was ahead of his time. His concept of web3 meant including data in web pages. I played around with that stuff (RDF, FOAF etc), but it did not really take off. I don't know what his views are on crypto, but it does give us a degree of ownership that centralised platforms lack.

I can see AI assistants taking off. It's what we've been expecting computers to do for us for decades, but they are still pretty dumb.

An amazing brain and truly dedicated to the idea of open information and a "free" internet.

I am sure the siloed system is turning his stomach but that just drives him to create a solution.
