Ah, interesting approach, to exchange them for merits! It's true, gladiators can be quite powerful, and no one probably has them even close to maxed out. Or nobody did before the Reward Shop came out.
I remember a time when summoners' scarcity was a bottleneck in the game. It's not the same anymore, but it's always a good idea to have some leveled-up summoners, even if they don't look like much at first.
That's included in my plan. So far now, the highest Summoner I have is a level 3 Quix the Devious. Once I achieve my SPS goal in two accounts and have some competitive cards, that's the time, I will start upgrading CL summoners.
