Here in Western Europe, renting is so much more expensive compared to mortgage for the same house probably 2-3x the monthly costs.

I would partially agree from an investment perspective (as renting out becomes more regulated) but from an utility perspective it is one of the best early purchases you can make.

I definitely agree it is not starter friendly. But in Western Europe- buy if you can. Rent if you must.
