I haven't been following the releases nor comparing the different products, so I don't really know how they can determine the gap in advancements between them. I think the big gap will show itself once all the publicly available data have been used in training, and they will be relying on their own sources. Additionally, whoever gets AGI will probably widen the gap as well.

You would think with all the talk of the Turing test for decades, the company that solved that was in charge. Yet we passed it without anyone knowing.
That is true. Not a lot of people were expecting AI to be able to create art and anything creative, but here we are. The path the AI development took deviated a lot from what people expected.
Ironic that creativity was the one thing people said it will never do and it looks like it is one of the first things ai is able to tackle.
Yeah. I still remember the line in I Robot. I guess that's why people are so against it. They were not prepared for it.
Hollywood does an awful job of framing technology. It really skews people's perception in ways that do not resemble what is taking place.
