For me, it was the internet that killed cable news. As soon as I was able to freely surf the internet, I barely watched television. I think it is the same for a lot of millenials and genZs. I think the numbers in the viewers of cable news are just the Boomers and genXs. It might sound gruesome, but the decrease in viewers could be those boomers/genXs that died. There is little point in watching news that are showing random information, compared to just searching online and looking up the specific news info you are looking for.

These days I dont think there is much news. They rely on opinion shows anyway.
