The most active DAO I am familiar with is the Splinterlands DAO. I don't think it is working as intended yet, but it is getting there. I can see its advantages though. Stake weighted votes give ownership more meaning, and those that have a lot of stake would tend to vote for things that is good for the game/app overall.
