It is good that they were able to scale it up. I've seen a lot of stories of individual miners putting their mining rigs in their basement and it heating their house. Some even combine it with solar, so they save and earn a lot more. Their plan of heating the water is similar to that.
There is also the risk of fire if they don't cold it right in their houses, doing a not so good job in the building of their rigs. 🔥
That is true. Although basements tend to be the coldest part of the house, so it is a good place for rigs.
Hmmm got it. Here we don't have basements so I didn't know... People don't build lower than street level.
A single mining rig doesnt do much. But when you have loads of them going, that is a lot of heat.
