There Is An Art To Saying “NO”

in LeoFinancelast month (edited)

# I suck at saying no.

It has always been quite difficult for me to say no. It has always seemed more polite to me, to say “yes.” I have just love to be helpful and amenable in any situation.

But, that’s not always the best thing. In many situations it might be better just to say “no.”

Saying NO is a skill; there’s an art to it!

Here are some tips to help::

Understand Your Limits: You can't do everything. Recognize what’s important to you.

Be Direct but Polite

Avoid Over-explaining: You don’t need to give a long list of reasons.

Offer Alternatives (If Possible)

Refer Them: If you can’t help, maybe you know someone who can.

Be Firm

Don’t Let The Other Person Guilt You

Keep it Light

Saying no isn't about being mean or selfish. I need remember that.

That or simply say NO, I don't know that. I have learned it the hard way while staying in a corporate for around 16 years and saying only YES. I only had to move to a better job and in 1 week there I've learned and mastered to say NO by simply watching the others when the manager wanted to throw more work at them.
