I haven't heard the term "bits" used for money in a long time. I remember when I was a kid hearing it and seeing it in some old western movies. Nobody I know says bits anymore, I doubt most younger people would even know about it.

There was also the old cheer, two bits, four bits, six bits a dollar, all for (who ever) stand up and holler.
