I have seen recent Hive posts by some authors discussing how certain people are milking the reward pool, the chain, and so on. It is not a new topic on Hive; it is always being discussed, and I believe that this type of content will increase once Hive reaches $2, followed by an endless downvote on who deserves what on their posts.
While I used to disagree with and criticize these people, I do not think I can do so anymore, and this is due to the diversity of opinions on how Hive should be run. This diversity is necessary, even if it can be morbid, harsh, and uncalled for; we definitely have similar ideas about the type of growth Hive requires, even if everyone's intent is for Hive to grow and all that.
I have seen people who used to be friends fight on the chain because they disagree on what should and should not be; it is healthier than having a group of people who all believe the same thing, not because it is true, but because they want to keep going in the same cycle.
During the splinterlands DHF controversy, people fought among themselves over this proposal, and many people may no longer be friends with certain people as a result of it.
For me, this is healthy; if the proposal were easily passed, SPL and Matt might not take the funding seriously, which is why having obstacles and opposition allows us to celebrate victories whenever they come.
I have fought with a lot of people here in the past, and it was not because I disliked them; it was because I wanted them to do something different, but I have realized that we can not influence change; people must have the mindset of change within themselves before it can happen externally.
Also, I have lost friendships with people here because I felt they were not there for me when I needed them to be, and there are people I no longer speak with, despite the fact that we used to be the best of friends and nothing could separate us.
However, this is life; my path is no longer their path, and my challenges are not their challenges; they believe in something different, and I believe in something different now; they do not believe in Hive, and I believe in Hive, so our interests no longer align; however, I am not going to argue with them; just as the Bible says, I wish and pray for them to be in good health and prosper, and if I get to talk with them someday, I will smile and say hello.
As someone going through a spiritual transition, what is most important to me right now is improving my health and that of my immediate family. This is not to say that I do not help others when I can; I always do, but I am trying to say that time can turn people who were once affiliated into strangers because they no longer believe in the same thing.
The whales you see on Hive today who are currently friends will no longer be friends in the future, due to the presence of diversity and how individuals can metamorphose into different versions of themselves over time.
The whales you despise today or that dead fish you believe is milking the chain may be your best friend; I have seen this happen on the chain in the last seven years. Some people once loved exyle (a now-defunct user), but now despise him and wish he never returned.
When the bull market returns, many people will engage in DV wars like never before. These internal crises give the impression that Hive is bad or not decentralized enough, when in fact it is simply the individual diversity of ideas and beliefs that is always at play.
I love Hive
......and I obviously despise malicious behavior, but going overboard and calling people milkers is not something I would do. I wouldn't support their content and just let them be. However, this is simply my belief as a man who has faced some difficult life realities. We can silently ask people to do better, and if they don't, we will not support them. I understand that we cannot influence others, but I have seen some of these posts and even comments from other whales balancing them and telling these guys to chill.
However, I would not be cynical enough to say that their wars against malicious behavior on Hive are irrelevant; I am simply pleased that the diversity of Hive can sometimes become a double-edged sword, revealing its good side as well. It is good to balance things out. As I previously stated, we fall in and fall out; life and reality ensure that we do not remain rigid.
