What happened in crypto in the past week? Bitcoin has been sideways for 195 days, ETH got a new foundation aiming to increase its value to 10K. Staking ETF are a thing now, Trump company got UAE support, TON doesn't have UAE support for the 100K staking. What else? Read below:
- Bitcoin: BTC ETFs hit 15 straight days of inflows, totaling nearly $4B. CZ is quite optimistic predicting that one day in the future 0.1 BTC will be more than the price of one US house. Texas Governor has signed the establishment of a BTC reserve for Texas, with all present voters voting in favor. MetaPlanet bought another 1234 BTC bringing its holding to a total of 12345 BTC. Retail investor demand for BTC dropped by 10% in one month, the lowest level in the past 6 months. Eight wallets containing Bitcoin untouched since 2011 transferred exactly 10K BTC each to new addresses, probably getting ready to sell. MicroStrategy had over $13B in unrealized gains, while their main bussiness, the software, only made $112M in revenue. Bitcoin has been sideways for 195 consecutive days - the longest stretch in history. DDC Enteprise, Asian food brands owner, raised $528M to buy BTC, aiming for 5000 BTC over 3 years. Arthur Hayes predicts a BTC drop despite its record highs. Tether launched a Bitcoin mining pilot in Brazil.
- Ethereum: SharpLink Gaming bought 12K ETH more reaching 188K ETH in total. Bitcoin Miner Bitmine raised $250M to buy ETH instead of BTC mining equipment. RobinHood now supports ETH and SOL staking. Ethereum is about to get transaction limits at 16.77 million gas, to prevent chaos and potential vulnerabilities that bad actors can exploit. Zak Cole launched the Ethereum Community Foundation with millions in ETH funding, aiming to support projects that burn ETH tokens and boost the price to $10K.
- Altcoins and stablecoins: Ripple's XRP Ledger just integrated Wormhole, and now can communicate with over 35 different blockchains instantly. BNB Chain is dropping block times from 1.5 sec to 0.75 sec with the Maxwell hardfork. LetsBONK processed 15600 token launched versus Pump.fun 11500 in 24 hours, first time Pump.fun is losing its Solana leadership position. DEFI Development Corp raised $112M through convertible notes to buy more SOL tokens. MooDeng meme coin went up 33%.
- NFTs and blockchain games: I have enjoyed playing Golem Overlord lately on Hive, and it is quite profitable, I would say, with some significant updates lately. - Good news: First US staking ETF gets the SEC approval for ETH and Solana. In a strange turn of events, SRM Entertainment, the company making Disney and Universal Studios merchandise, just staked 365M Tron tokens. Senator Lummis is pushing an amendament into Trump's budget bill to eliminate taxes on small crypto transactions. Ben Miller argued that governments shouldn't tax Bitcoin and crypto, because they provide no services to maintain the network. After Circle share price success, Coinbase stock rallied to highest level since 2021 IPO. Coinbase bought Liquifi, a start up helping crypto projects manage token ownership. Kraken launched the Krak app for global payments. Circle seeks to become a US national trust bank.
- Bad news: TON said that it is offering 10-years UAE residency for $100K in staked TON, instead of the usual $540K real estate investment, staked for three years, with 3-4% annual yields, and your entire family is covered. On Monday, the Emirates News Agency denied the Golden Visa Link to $100K TON staking. Crypto hacks and scams topped $2.5B in the first half of 2025. OpenAI cautioned that Robinhood tokens offering exposure to its equity don't represent real ownership in the OpenAI startup. The US Secret Service is taking its fight against crypto scams global.
- Joke of the week: Trump, Trump and Trump! Middle East money from UAE-based Aqua 1 foundation added an $100M investment to World Liberty Financial. Donald called the Bitcoin good for dollar at a White House conference.
