You can hardly replace YouTube when all the songs are actually hosted there. If YT was shut down, you'd basically have links to nowhere, 404 error page.

Also, YT can block playing the videos embedded at certain websites, cannot it? People would have to click through to YT then in order to play the video.

I meant as a destination for music for people on here.

And yes, there is a dependency. The ideal would be for this music to be loaded onto IPFS through something like 3Speak and then embedded.

Yeah that is based upon the country.

But then it doesnt happen in 95% of the instances. And if someone picks a song from their country, it goes through.

And that would be a huge copyright issue with most of music :)

And who are they going to send notice to?

I guess the copyright owners would approach it the same way as torrents - they'd fight people uploading the content and try to get money from or rid of the access points. In this case, the websites used to play the music. I am no legal expert though, and it would certainly depend on various jurisdictions worldwide.
