Seize the Moment

I had an interview with a rival financial institution on Friday for an Audit related role. It was the second stage of the interview and I felt pretty confident going into it, having performed relatively well during the first.

The actual interview was scheduled to hold 12.00pm on teams but I didn't get a call until more than 2 hours later. Needless to say I was thrown off balance, as well as distracted from my work activities of the day. Notwithstanding, when the call came in I was pretty confident about my ability to sell myself and proceeded without hesitation.

Things were going pretty well till one question threw me off balance. It sent me down a rabbit hole rambling and even though am sure the answer was in there somewhere, am not very confident I sold myself as someone with the requisite knowledge and skills for the job. Of course it may also be that am being too hard on myself, but I guess time will tell.

At my stage opportunities don't come as often as they once did. I'm really disappointed in myself for not taking full advantage but I guess the lesson here is 'no do-overs'. I'll wait a week for feedback and see if I miraculously get the offer. If not, it is yet another biter lesson on preparation.

It happens, don't beat yourself up about it too much. Good luck! ;)

Can't help it but thanks
