People say that every new day presents an opportunity, and to some extent I've found that to be true. No matter the failures of the previous day, once I go to be and wake up the next morning it always feels like there's been a minor reset and an opportunity to make significant changes. On the flipside though there are sometimes I sense when a really big opportunities comes bye and the feelings of it passing me bye tend to stay more than I probably want.
These aren't the random opportunities that seem to present themselves on a daily basis. Rather, they are big time potential opportunities that can cause significant transformation in the moment. When such opportunities do come our way they tend to leave their mark. The funny thing is that for most of them nothing really special is required to attract them other than the things we do consistently on a daily basis.
For me I can think of a handful of truly life transforming opportunities that have come my way. I haven't really fully capitalized on anyone of them, else perhaps I'd be in a significantly better off position. Nonetheless, they sting when you imagine the potential consequences of missing a life transforming opportunity. Of course for such opportunities there are no do-overs, and we're rather left to rue our luck. Crypto easily comes to mind when I reflect, as well as a personal decision I made that affected my present day career four years ago.
I do like the way the come unannounced though. Some we don't recognise and some we are unprepared for. I believe that both go hand in hand. Part of preparation is being able to recognize opportunities better as they come. Funny thing is that nothing extraordinary is required, just some effort and a lot of consistency. I know I'll grab one someday, or get so many small windows open that it won't matter whether the big window opens or not.
