If the World Burns

The last couple of days has one story on everyone's lips. I mean, it isn't everyday you witness a live executiion on national Television. As shocking and as sad as the reactions have been over the tragedy, even more shocking are the reactions we have gotten since the event occurred.

I initially wanted to ignore this story completely - everyone is talking about it anyways. In terms of insights there really isn't any to add, as much of our concerns and observations have already been discussed. What is rather surprising to me is how little emotionally I want to get invested in the storyline and how it unfolds.

If not I'd definitely be triggered. Some reactions look like they were straight from hell. Am not trying to focus on the negatives or positives on this one, just simply accepting the fact that our race is a very complex one mixed with all sorts of people. I believe acceptance is the final stage in grief. I have decided to ultimately begin my journey right from the acceptance phase going forward.

It must take a special kind of sickness to think shooting someone in the head is the best way you handle disagreements over their views. Alas, it is the World we have grown accustomed to. Mainstream media continues to potray some of us as sub-human, incapable of doing anything good. When you potray someone as Hitler just to run an agenda, some people will think they're heroes doing the World a favour with sick actions.

It appears we are neck deep in our divisions and respect has been thrown out the door. Some of us have accepted things the way they are, and are instead focusing on solidifying the structures in our lives. Life goes on regardless.

Sort:

Yeah, i don't normally even bother with news and what not seeing as how I am so detached from it all but I ended up seeing one of the angles of the shot and I wish I hadn't. gruesome.
