Part of what makes a product or person more markertable is the stories that are behind them. This seems to hold through on so many fronts like Entertainment, politics and to a more limited extent, Science. A good redemption or comeback story resonates more than others because many of us can relate to experiencing the lows of life at a point in time.

However, while we're experiencing such lows there are lines that should not be crossed. In the spate of our lows we must be careful not to either hit the self destruct button, or worse be responsible for the destruction of others as a result. It is often the former that we see more often than not. Many of us know that person who developed an addiciton, or lost their families as a result.

When we start to dip we must consciously call ourselves back. It must never go past the extent where redemption becomes impossible. As someone who has experienced a lot of lows lately I probably need to remind myself more than anyone, even though I certainly don't have a penchant for any addictive vices, save for sulking alone and letting my shortcomings get to me. Well, I certainly can take my own advice.
