Hello all! Another week and it’s time again to do another #myhivegoals post, a series idea started by started by @jongolson. This also doubles as my weekly progress report for #saturdaysavers, which is a fun little group that tries to motivate everyone to save and reach their goals. I’m going to look at the progress I’ve made on my Hive goals, as well as give a few tokens I’m looking at right now. If you are here for the comment SBI giveaway, well, we’ll get to that too.
Let’s start with my Hive goals.
Hive
My current goal is 35k Hive.
Last week I made 185 and also powered-up 400 for HPUD, bringing me to 23438.28 total Hive Power. That’s 67.0% of my goal!
Math time. 35k - 23438.28 gives us 11561.72. Divided out by the days till the first of next year, we get 34.9 Hive needed per day to reach 35k by that point. That’s still out of reach for me, but at least it’s in sight!
BRO and PIMP
Last week I bought and earned 0.761 BRO, which puts me at 526.97 total or 52.7% of my goal. And I made 391.7 PIMP last week, putting me at 65434.1 — 65.4% of my goal.
A New Goal: Cine
I’ve long been acquiring CINE bit by bit. Of all the communities on Hive, CineTV may have the most potential. Think of it: everyone watches TV and movies. Even people who don’t have or make time for TV/movies at this point in their lives (like me), they usually have great memories of them and enjoy talking about the favorite shows and movies from when they did have more time to indulge. It is a huge niche! @raymondspeaks has already put a lot of money into this, building what I think is the single best frontend on Hive after Peakd. If you’ve never used it, go check it out. About the only thing missing is scheduling, a feature I nag Ray about every now and again.
Right now CINE is really cheap, making it a great buying opportunity. Like I said, I’ve been picking it up here and there for the past few years, and I am now number 11 on the rich list (the people above me own multiples more, so I probably won’t be moving up on this list any time soon). I thought it’s about time to make my buys more regular. So starting now, I will be buying .15 in HIVE of CINE everyday. As of right now that is about 108 CINE everyday. That will give me a bit above 1 HIVE of CINE every week, which I think is a pretty good amount to average in. I might do more on some days, we’ll see. I’ll still check the market every now and then, but this .15 buy will just be automatic on beeswap. (On that note, does anyone know a website that will let me automate a daily buys?)
Silver
Nasty drop at the end of last week…
Again, no silver buys this week. I’m really falling down in my buy some silver every week goal. In fairness, in yen silver is expensive right now (as is everything) and most of my daily earnings in the real world go towards supporting my family, leaving little left for investment. I do have the option I suppose of buying in dollars and sending to my parents house to hold for me until whenever I next visit, but at the same time I don’t really like the idea of using my parents as a mail drop-off, especially when I can’t go there very often.
So I just browse and look at things I want. Window shopping, basically. Here is a really nice one I found last week! @bulliontools mentioned that he was moving more toward more unique rounds or coins with a limited mintage, well this one fits the bill on that, or at least has what seems to me to be an unusual subject
You know, whenever I see an octopus, I think of that giant octopus attack at the end of the live-action Popeye film with Robin Williams.
If you like that, you can order it here.

That stuff out of the way, let’s do our SBI drawing! If you are new here, I give away 5 shares of SBI every week to commenters on this post. If you also reblog and comment you get a second entry and double the award (if you win).
