100k BTC and Why I Am Still Buying HIVE

in LeoFinance21 days ago

Over 100k. Well... was over 100k. Now as I write this it has fallen back to just under 99k. Anyway.

Wow. I was one of those guys who thought resistance to 100k would be too strong and that we'd continue to bounce off it for awhile, but looks like the bulls won this round.

Next guess is... do the bulls keep pushing it up, or does it start to come down? A lot of people keep saying that downward pressure from people taking profit is pretty strong but that Michael Saylor with his incredibly huge buys is pushing it up almost entirely by himself. Just look at November. Most of the BTC inflow came from MicroStrategy (MSTR)! That's incredible.

You see ETF inflows were about the same as October. Actually a little less. But MSTR came in to save the day with their giant purchases.

Can Saylor keep pushing the price up? Can he keep getting money for these huge BTC buys? Or will the bears get the upper hand and bring the price down to around the 80s, as a lot of people predict? It will be pretty interesting to watch.

Meanwhile, the alts—including HIVE for once—were starting to do pretty good, but this latest push to BTC has sucked a little of the wind out of their sails.

But hey, HIVE is still up. And really, that is the purpose of this post today. HIVE is up.

Go HIVE

I know there is a lot of pessimism about Hive right now. The DHF is just bleeding money for projects that most of us feel are a waste, and that most of us feel powerless to stop being as how it seems like all the large whales and orcas push them through. There is a feeling of corruption on Hive. What's more—there is a feeling of cronyism. Know the right people and you can just wrote a BS DHF proposal and get free money. The current proposal system doesn't do anything about revoking funding if the proposal promises aren't kept, so yeah, free money! At least that is the perception and the feeling among a lot of people, which is fueling a large part of the pessimism. There is also the fact that we never seem to gain new members, and what few new members we do gain are soon chased away by downvotes.

Then there is the price. HIVE just can't seem to catch a break and never sees any increase. Just how long have we need below a dollar now? It's been awhile.

I want to address that last one. Hive corruption and DHF abuse are there, yes, but I honestly think things are better than they were (remember all the abuse in the Steemit days?) and improving. But the price...

HIVE is $0.329 as I write this, which is a lot better than the sub-0.2 that were were stuck at since early summer. And you know what? That's pretty good. Really it is!

We get distracted by the huge BTC numbers. 74k to 100k since the US election. That is a 35% increase. HIVE meanwhile from the election went from 0.170 to 0.329, which seems nothing compared to bitcoin. But that is actually an 93% increase! So you see, HIVE is actually beating Bitcoin!

I know, I know, a small cap coin is suppose to be doing those 10x increases, and yeah in that view HIVE's performance is a little underwhelming. But still, it's not too bad. In any other market, HIVE's performance would not be viewed negatively. So guys, don't feel like you are missing the BTC boat by being invested in HIVE. You have actually made a better gain.

Anyway, that is all. I am very pro-HIVE and I think all of you should be too! And my money is where my mouth is—those who have been following along know that most of my 20k Hive Power increase this year to 40k was fueled by my own fiat money coming in. I'm still DCAing in even now with the price going up.

Go HIVE!

What do you think? Are you buying HIVE or do you think BTC is the safer bet? Speaking of that, do you think MSTR can keep pushing the price up, or does it eventually come down to the 80s level as many are predicting?

Same thought here. More than 50% of my HP was also fueled by fiat money. As for me, it is more realistic to expect HIVE to run from $0.30 to $10 than for BTC to run from 100k to 1M.

Many fail to see the insight behind these numbers:

  • BTC 74k to 100k = 35% increase

  • HIVE from 0.170 to 0.329 = 93% increase!

To $10! We can dream....

A more realistic one than BTC 1M! 😆

I am waiting for this mid december... usually people dumo HIVE to fund up their Xmas Vacation... who knows, anything can happen

I didn't think of that, but it could be true.

Hive has a lot going for them. Biggest obstacle that I see is the hive users themselves...

Long live Hive!

Long live Hive!

Something we need to understand ... all coins not Bitcoin always lag it in time of increase, and the crypto market cycle is four years long ... so, YES, we should expect that Hive would have been down that two years and down bad, because almost all coins not Bitcoin lose 90-99 percent of their value, but then overtake Bitcoin in percentage of increase in their shining moment. Hive is on course, given its position in the market.

alt season coming baby

Hope Hive goes the same way !BBH !LOLZ

Me too!

I'm pro Hive as well. I've invested way too much time here not to be at this point. It's been a great hobby for me over the years and I don't see that changing no matter what the price is. I think I read something that they are starting to buy up BTC over in Saudi Arabia now, so who knows what that might do. Lot's of money over there!

If that's true, that could really push it up. Lots of rich guys over there. Guess we'll find out. A fall to 80k for the holiday, then after the new year it explodes?

Sadly, 80k is still a bit too high for me to be buying in. I'm just glad I was DCA'ing back when it was lower.
