The funny thing about Bookng.com if you book directly with the hotel they will beat the rate offered by Booking.com. I learned this a few years back d they will tell you to book directly with them and to tell them. This is why I phone book and get anywhere between 10 and 20% discount. For some reason they hate Booking.com.

I have done the same thing too some times but in recent years booking uses a lot of promotions , discounts and I even got a cash back . They are trying to kill the competition and make it so that a hotel cannot operate without them
