Hi,

the theme for today's #februaryinleo, the initiative for increasing the interaction and the quality of posts, is about the devices that can change life, which falls under the #wednesdaytech theme.

Well, some people might go with a small device, such as a phone, or a watch, or even a vacuum robot. Ok, they are good devices, but we can live without them, and some of them, even complicate our life.

I would say that one of the best life changing devices from the past years, is the solar power station, which also shall include batteries as storage. These devices, with AI for optimisation, will get better and better with time. Why do I say that they are life changing? Because they are, changing the life of millions.

We have over 760 million people with no electricity. This is huge! And we have 2 billion people without access to clean water. With the portable solar power station, wheels can be rigged faster, and even pumps can be operated all day long, Not speaking about the filtration of water, as with electricity, clean water can be much easier achieved.

Electricity and running water are the foundation of current civilisation. Without them, we are still 200 years behind.

Just imagine having proper health facilities in those areas and proper education, with schools that have electricity. We have the sun, which gives us a lot of energy, so why not use it?

Investing more into such devices, building an infrastructure in poor areas, will definitely increase the life standards of the people there. Fewer refugees, more local development, coming from here. Instead of buying weapons, we shall invest in tech that makes a positive impact.

We have over 781 million illiterate adults at this time (*wikipedia as source for figures), and most come, which you might have guessed, from the countries that don't have access to clean water and electricity. These people might change their lives with electricity. They definitely change, but there is a trick, education is mandatory on such endeavours.

Imagine that 1 billion more people can have clean water. That is a huge number, bigger than the whole European population.

What would be from your point of view the device worth mentioning?

This is part of the initiative #februaryinleo, where you can still participate, even if you missed the post from the start, like I did. All the details are in here and in here.
