I watched the English version of this anime movie, but it does have a Japanese version available with English subtitles, and its runtime is 1 hour and 29 minutes long and is made for PG/13 audiences.
This is a sequel to the 2018 anime movie "Batman Ninja" and was just recently released by Warner Bro. Japan division. This is a crazy anime movie with an over-the-top plot where Japan is vanished and has an alternative world that is floating over Gotham. This floating alternative Japan has a Yakuza ring running it and contains all the evil versions of the Justice Leage except Wonder Woman.
The list of characters we can see from the Dc Comics are as following:
- Bruce Wayne, whose alter ego is Batman.
- Damian Wayne, whose alter ego is Robin and also happens to be the son of Batman.
- Red Hood and Night Wing, who are part of the bat family.
- An alternate version of Superman that wears sunglasses and acts like a gangster.
- An alternate version of AquaMan.
- An alternate version of GreenLatern whose gender is a woman.
- An alternate version of Wonder Woman who plays as a good character unlike the other Justice League characters in this anime movie.
- Ra's Al Ghul is the leader of the bad Justice League characters.
- An alternate version of The Flash.
- We also see Joker and Harley Quinn.
- James Gordon the famous Gotham Police chief and batman's buttler Alfred Pennyworth also appears in this anime movie.
The animation of this dc Japanese anime is done pretty well with great character designs and dynamic action-packed fighting sequences.
It has a very over-the-top and sometimes absurd dialogues with Japanese anime humor added into the mix. The spectacle looks amazing because it blends Japanese traditional yakuza style lore and American comic book styles.
The story of this anime movie might be quite absurd, but it is quite entertaining to watch, and I really enjoyed the experience. We get to see Batman use his detective skills and strategies to defeat the characters of the Yakuza Justice League one by one, as we saw in previous American DC comics and cartoons. Before that, Batman has developed specific methods to defeat the members of the Justice League in case they go to the dark side.
The main villain who controls the villanous alternate Justice League characters is Ra's Al Ghul, and his character wants to destroy not only Gotham but also the whole world.
I will give Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League a 10 out of 10 because I really enjoyed this anime movie and would suggest it to everyone who enjoys good action animes coming from Japan.
