Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, espero se encuentren bien el día de hoy. Estuve revisando algunas películas por la aplicación de Magistv y encontré una que llamó mi atención, se llama El Silencio de las Palabras o en inglés Out of My Mind dirigida por Amber Sealey y estrenada este año, de género drama que nos cuenta la historia de una joven con parálisis cerebral y los retos que debe enfrentar dia a dia para tener una vida medianamente normal, para poder comunicarse y a la vez hacer cosas que harían las personas de su edad. Es una película muy bonita pero a la vez te deja una sensación de vacío y tristeza, así que en este post me gustaría darles mi reseña de esta gran historia.

I was reviewing some movies through the Magistv application and I found one that caught my attention, it's called The Silence of Words or in English Out of My Mind directed by Amber Sealey and released this year, drama genre that tells the story of a young girl with cerebral palsy and the challenges she must face every day to have a fairly normal life, to communicate and at the same time do things that people her age would do. It is a very nice movie but at the same time it leaves you with a feeling of emptiness and sadness, so in this post I would like to give you my review of this great story.
La trama nos cuenta la historia de una joven llamada Melody Brooks (Phoebe-Rae Taylor) quien nació con una parálisis cerebral que le impide caminar, comer, hablar y desarrollarse con total normalidad, para ella siendo tan joven puede ser agobiante tratar de encajar en un mundo que esta acostumbrado a ver a personas como ella, como simples humanos sin capacidades o que causan incomodidad a donde quiera que van. Pero Melody desea con todas sus fuerzas poder darse a conocer, poder hablar ya que ella nunca pudo desarrollar esa parte del lenguaje y aunque es difícil para ella decir lo que siente o piensa, con la ayuda de unas hojas llenas de frases o palabras se comunica con sus padres quienes la aman profundamente pero temen que si se enfrenta sola al mundo pueda salir lastimada.
The plot tells the story of a young girl named Melody Brooks (Phoebe-Rae Taylor) who was born with cerebral palsy that prevents her from walking, eating, speaking and developing normally, for her being so young it can be overwhelming to try to fit into a world that is used to seeing people like her, as simple humans without capabilities or that cause discomfort wherever they go. But Melody wishes with all her strength to be able to make herself known, to be able to speak since she was never able to develop that part of the language and although it is difficult for her to say what she feels or thinks, with the help of a few sheets full of phrases or words she communicates with her parents who love her deeply but fear that if she faces the world alone she could get hurt.
Melody tiene una gran capacidad para entender cualquier situación en la que se encuentre y además posee una gran inteligencia que la lleva de estar en una escuela para jóvenes especiales a una normal con otros que parecen no tener ninguna discapacidad visualmente pero que podemos ver al avanzar la historia cómo la falta de empatía e incluso la indiferencia pueden llegar a lastimar a Melody o a cualquier joven con una condición que se enfrenta a un mundo que no está preparado para lo diferente o lo desconocido. Es una historia que puede llegar profundamente a emocionar, ver cómo Melody hace su mayor esfuerzo por encajar, por tener amigos y por hacer más cosas que la reten a salir de su zona de confort es algo que solo alguien lleno de fuerza interior puede hacer sin importar lo que otros piensen o los retos que la vida le pongan.
Melody has a great ability to understand any situation in which she finds herself and also has a great intelligence that takes her from being in a school for special young people to a normal one with others who seem to have no visual impairment but we can see as the story progresses how the lack of empathy and even indifference can come to hurt Melody or any young person with a condition facing a world that is not prepared for the different or the unknown. It is a story that can become deeply moving, to see how Melody does her best to fit in, to have friends and to do more things that challenge her to get out of her comfort zone is something that only someone full of inner strength can do no matter what others think or the challenges that life throws at her.
Tener una discapacidad puede limitar a las personas que lo viven en tantas áreas como el estudio, las relaciones personales, el desarrollo normal de la vida diaria y hasta el cuidado personal que es un gran desafío que puede llegar a llenar de miedos y desesperanza, pero a pesar de todo esto en la historia de Melody y en otras historias de personas que todos conocemos con alguna discapacidad física o mental llegamos a ver la gran fuerza que tienen para vencer tantos obstáculos sin importar el diagnóstico o los pronósticos de los médicos. Melody a pesar de que no puede comunicarse ni caminar, puede con la ayuda de personas que confían en su potencial llegar a conocer lo que es vivir como una persona normal dentro de sus posibilidades, es tan importante el deseo que tiene Melody de aprender y de crecer que esto la impulsa a lograr ser reconocida por su gran inteligencia y empatía.
Having a disability can limit people who live with it in so many areas such as study, personal relationships, the normal development of daily life and even personal care, which is a great challenge that can fill you with fear and hopelessness, but despite all this in the story of Melody and other stories of people we all know with physical or mental disabilities we get to see the great strength they have to overcome many obstacles regardless of the diagnosis or the prognosis of doctors. Melody, despite the fact that she cannot communicate or walk, with the help of people who trust in her potential, can get to know what it is like to live as a normal person within her possibilities. Melody's desire to learn and grow is so important that this drives her to be recognized for her great intelligence and empathy.
Es una historia que puede ser triste de ver pero que a su vez nos deja tantos mensajes importantes sobre todo a todos aquellos que no poseemos una discapacidad visible y es que sin importar que tanto parezcan imposibles las cosas que deseamos para nuestra vida y los problemas que tengamos, podemos ver desde el punto de vista de Melody que fue el de la esperanza y el de la valentía, que sin importar lo que otros piensen o lo que la medicina diga acerca de nuestras habilidades si nuestra mente desea lograr algo y ponemos todo nuestro esfuerzo en ello lograremos grandes cosas en nuestra vida. Es una película que sin duda puede causar llanto e impotencia en algunas escenas dónde Melody es invalidada o ignorada, pero que también deja un mensaje muy poderoso y es que podemos lograr todo aquello que deseamos, solo tenemos que apoyarnos de las personas que nos aman y siempre creer en nosotros.
It is a story that can be sad to see but at the same time leaves us with so many important messages, especially for those of us who do not have a visible disability, that no matter how impossible the things we want for our lives and the problems we have seem, we can see from Melody's point of view of hope and courage, that no matter what others think or what medicine says about our abilities if our mind wants to achieve something and we put all our effort into it, we will achieve great things in our lives. It is a movie that undoubtedly can cause tears and impotence in some scenes where Melody is invalidated or ignored, but it also leaves a very powerful message and that is that we can achieve everything we want, we just have to rely on the people who love us and always believe in us.
