Movie plot....
It is never difficult to identify an American movie when you see one, just like every other typical American movies.
The movie began with the display of agent Alison kicking the butt of few colleagues in a training session and she wasn't joking.
At first, it felt like she was going to break them into two but then luckily for the lackeys she was content with just keeping them on the floor, after that she also got her ass kicked by her coach who feels she wasn't doing enough by relaxing, instead of keeping her guards up after defeating her opponents.
When it comes sparring sections in military sequence movies, it is never about the the sparring but to prepare the minds of the trainees for what to expect in the battlefield and that is one lesson Alison's coach wanted her to keep in mind for her foreseeable future and if you ask me, I would say I'm glad she learnt it because that lesson seems to be the only thing that kept her alive when everything suddenly goes south.
Lucky for her, uncle Sam stepped in and he managed to reduce the tension between Alison and her coach, I mean she would have appreciated a heads up before her coach picked her up and slammed her on the ground, that is enough to piss off anyone right? enough about "soon to be" agent Alison and her coach.
Then we have uncle Sam visiting his niece, well he decided to poke his face in the military base first, instead of a call, well that is what I call an unexpected visit. I wouldn't have expected much, it seems the whole military stuff runs in the family. Uncle Sam is from secret service or should I say he runs it. Judging from his poker face, he kind of feels like his niece was wasting are potentials just by being content being a member of marine special operations, despite being the first lady to become one.
To remedy that, he decided to recruit Alison into the secret service, well I wish he didn't because what comes next changed the entire narrative of Alison miles life. But then Alison feels different about it because she didn't waste anytime accepting her uncle's offer, kind of felt like she was tired of sparring sessions with bunch of lackeys at the base and wanted to get a piece of real action, well she should have been careful of what she wished for. The action she craved, she got it and a lot more.
As if agent miles isn't flashy enough to have all the attention to herself, then we have the insufferable, soft and silver spoon president, not my words, that was agent miles definition of him. Speaking of a political figure that act with much glamour, yeah president Edward, also known by the code name falcon played this part quite well and he did more than that.
He got himself in a deal with a country named Astovia, the deal was announced in a press conference while he was standing next to the country's president. Not everyone was thrilled with the announcement made by the president.
Even his own chief of staff questioned his decision along with many others but none of them was so pissed about the arrangement like the mischievous general of Astovia, named Rodinov. As far as protagonist goes, he didn't waste time establishing his role.
The movie is action packed to an extent but too focused on displaying a single figure military prowess. I mean an agent taking on an entire enemy military base filled with sophisticated weapons by herself, hoooof that is a lot, if you ask me but then I will leave that for you to decide. And for romance, the script writer must have forgotten to add that part to the script.
There was a little bit of flirting between agent miles and falcon but it was not acted upon at any point. I guess such unprofessional conduct is not expected from a president and a secret service agent, all they could do is to stare and exchange smiles like in those Indian movies in the 80s. So their relationship remained strictly professional, as expected.
In conclusion....
For someone in search of gun blazing and action packed kind of movie, I would recommend this movie, it is good enough but if you are expecting any form of comedy or romance, you are not going to get it from this one, you better look else where.
There you have it guys, that is my pick for the weekend, hopefully you would have nice time watching it and if you don't, don't fail to let me know of your displeasure in the comment section 😅.
Till next Friday........
