Hello, today I started the day in a good mood. After having breakfast, I wanted to watch a series I was curious about, called See. It was also the first day of my unlimited internet. I decided to watch See, and it gave me a lot—it reminded me that we really need to appreciate certain things in life. Talking about it is truly exciting.
The series is set in a distant, post-apocalyptic future, where humanity has lost the sense of sight for generations, and vision itself is considered nothing more than a myth. Everything begins with the birth of twin children in a mountain tribe—children who are born with the ability to see.
The main role is played by Jason Momoa, as a fearless warrior and the leader of the Alkenny mountain tribe, named Baba Voss. One day, a woman arrives in the village. Her name is Maghra, a very beautiful blonde woman. Baba Voss takes her to a cave, spends time with her there, and falls in love with her. But Maghra is carrying children that belong to another man.
Despite this, Baba Voss wants to marry her because he truly loves her. However, he keeps it a secret from the Alkenny tribe, since no outsider is allowed to join them. As Maghra’s due date approaches, the tribe’s spiritual leader, a woman named Paris, prepares to help her deliver the babies. Standing against the entire tribe, Baba Voss insists that these twins must be born.
Finally, the twins are born—one girl and one boy. It was a miracle, because both of them could see.
One member of the tribe, the traitor Gether Bax, goes to the city of Kanzua and informs Queen Kane. The queen orders Tamacti Jun, the general of the Witchfinders, to hunt down the witches who spread the knowledge of sight and to capture Jerlamarel, a man who can actually see and share this forbidden gift.
Meanwhile, the warriors of Baba Voss, leader of the Alkenny tribe, sense danger approaching. With their heightened senses, they can tell how many horses there are, how many men are coming—all without seeing. Baba Voss immediately prepares the tribe for battle.
But the traitor Gether Bax reveals the location of the Alkenny village to Tamacti Jun. The village is built high in the mountains, surrounded by massive stone walls, with only one entrance blocked with stones—the other side is a sheer cliff. The Witchfinders climb the mountain and reach the wall. They place ladders to climb over, but their numbers are overwhelming. Baba Voss cuts the thick ropes holding the wall structure, collapsing it and striking a heavy blow against them.
Panic spreads among the Alkenny. In fear, many want to hand over the newborn twins to the Witchfinders. But Baba Voss, standing before Maghra, draws his sword and declares: “No one will take the children unless they kill me first.” He defies the entire tribe, and those loyal to him stand at his side. Against Baba Voss and his men, the rest of the Alkenny are powerless.
Desperate for an escape, the tribe turns to Paris, the wise elder, who reveals a hidden path: a bridge of ropes and wood built long ago by Jerlamarel, the true father of the twins. One by one, the tribe crosses safely to the other side.
The Witchfinders arrive soon after, but hesitate at the edge, fearing the deadly drop beneath the bridge. Tamacti Jun forces the traitor Gether Bax to cross, threatening to kill him otherwise. As he makes his way across, Baba Voss waits at the far end. When Gether Bax reaches the middle, Baba Voss pretends to offer him a hand—but then cuts the ropes. The bridge collapses, sending the traitor and others into the abyss.
With the bridge destroyed behind them, Baba Voss leads the Alkenny people into the forest.
A few days later, the Alkenny tribe found a place to settle. While walking through the forest with the twins, Baba Voss encountered a bear. In the struggle to escape, he dropped the basket carrying the children, and the bear tried to reach for them. Baba Voss fought to protect the twins, and another man appeared to help him kill the bear. This man revealed himself as Jerlamarel. Baba Voss already knew that Jerlamarel was the true father of the twins.
Jerlamarel asked Baba Voss to one day give the children names and introduced them as Kofun and Haniwa. He also handed Baba Voss a key to a chest, telling him that the twins should open it when they were older. Curious, Baba Voss retrieved the chest and brought it back. But Maghra insisted that the children should never know about it. At that moment, Paris entered and objected, saying: “This is their right. You cannot deprive them of it.” Still, Maghra stood firm in her decision—she would never tell them. Outwardly, Paris agreed, but secretly she hid the books and the map from the chest.
When the twins turned twelve, Paris finally revealed the truth. She gave Haniwa and Kofun the books, which contained all kinds of knowledge—basic reading lessons, developmental guides, and more. Every day, they studied, read, and grew stronger in both mind and spirit.
But the traitor Gether Bax and his aunt continued to watch them. They secretly sent a message to the Witchfinders by tying a note to a bottle and setting it afloat in the river. Eventually, another tribe found the bottle and passed the message to the Witchfinders, who soon discovered the Alkenny tribe once again.
Baba Voss, Maghra, and Paris quickly devised a plan to escape, but the rest of the Alkenny stayed behind. Baba Voss had spent his spare time building a boat, and with his family, he set off downstream on the river. Tragically, the Witchfinders captured, interrogated, and slaughtered the remaining Alkenny tribe. General Tamacti Jun annihilated them all.
Following Jerlamarel’s map, Baba Voss, Maghra, Paris, and the twins traveled along the river until they stopped at one point. During the night, while they slept, someone with the ability to see stole all of their belongings. Searching nearby, they discovered a scavenger settlement. Haniwa went inside, found their stolen items, and met a solitary man named Boots. He revealed himself to be one of Jerlamarel’s younger children, and he too could see. He swore loyalty to Baba Voss, on the condition that he could join them on their journey. Haniwa returned the small bag to Maghra.
But once again, the Witchfinders discovered their group. While Baba Voss and the others fought them in the forest, Maghra and Paris hid. Eventually, Maghra stepped out of hiding and confronted Tamacti Jun. Inside her bag, he discovered an item that only members of the royal family were allowed to possess: a royal ring.
Hearing its distinct jingle, Tamacti Jun bowed before her and addressed her not as Maghra of the Alkenny, but as Princess Maghra of House Kane. Maghra was revealed to be the youngest daughter of the Kanzua royal family.
Queen Kane had been searching for children with the gift of sight for twenty years, and meanwhile chaos spread across the Kingdom of Kanzua. During this time, Queen Kane’s parliament convened, expressing their frustration at the vast amount of resources being wasted in the search for Jerlamarel’s children. Soon after, two parliament members—Lord Dune and Lady An—plotted to assassinate the queen.
The plot was overheard by Queen Kane’s handmaiden, Nyrie, who later revealed it to her. With Nyrie’s help, Queen Kane captured Lord Dune and Lady An and executed them publicly before all the people of Kanzua. Then, in an act of fury, Queen Kane caused the collapse of the Kanzua dam, flooding the entire valley. As the waters consumed the land, Queen Kane and Nyrie fled in a carriage.
On the road, they were ambushed. Nyrie was killed, and Queen Kane was captured. She was taken to a nearby silk-producing settlement known as the City of Worms. Unaware of her true identity, the settlement’s leader, Cutter, enslaved her. Eventually, another slave recognized her as the queen and informed Cutter. She was immediately brought before him, where a royal talisman embedded in her chest confirmed her identity.
Cutter then arranged for her to be sent, along with envoys, to General Tamacti Jun.
Meanwhile, on the river, Boots betrayed Baba Voss’s group by lying that he had witnessed Maghra’s death. He led them into captivity, locking them inside a cave where they were held as prisoners for some time.
At the same time, the Witchfinders set out to rescue Queen Kane. But General Tamacti Jun learned of the massacre she had committed against her own people. Furious, he struck a deal with Princess Maghra: “Convince your sister to hand the throne over to you, or I will execute her.”
But Queen Kane refused. When Tamacti Jun moved to execute her, she pulled out a hidden blade embedded in her wrist and killed the general instead. Afterward, she made peace with her sister Maghra, and together—with soldiers and Boots by their side—they set out on a new path.
