RE: Forgiveness: A way to overcome barriers to kindness

in kindnesslast year

Forgiveness really is an act of kindness and healing. I think for me though, the act of forgiveness is so much more to do with what we do for ourselves, rather than for someone else. Some people are not repentant, do not acknowledge they did harm or still wish to do harm, but we can still forgive them. It does not mean that what they did is okay. But it stops us from allowing the pain to continue hurting us today.

We are called to forgive and not to judge, there is only one at the end of the day who can forgive or not forgive, revenge or not revenge, but that duty is not ours.

Not forgiving robs us of peace and eats away at us like a cancer. I think that self forgiveness can be one of the hardest things to forgive, but we must, in order to be able to be kind, we must release ourselves from our own hatred towards ourselves. Thank you for sharing and sharing your kindness diary too.
