We recently visited the Centro de Diagnóstico Integral, and Baby Bee continues to be monitored at this educational and health center. This time, the teacher Paola gave her new activities to stimulate her cognitive and motor development. The care is done in a room that has tables and chairs suitable for the size of the children, Alma followed instructions and sat, listened attentively and cooperatively.
Alma has shown great dexterity in using her finger pincers to grasp small or thin objects. On this occasion, she was given thick crayons to paint with, she was able to master them and colored different shapes, she also made scattered strokes, zigzags and circles, later indicating that they were her parents, the therapist or the teacher.
Then the teacher fetched paints and a paintbrush, and was pleasantly surprised by the child's ability to pick up the materials. The teacher made a silhouette of a bush and told Alma to paint the leaves green and the trunk brown, the little girl followed the instructions quickly. In the picture you can see the final result.
Alma also identified the parts of her body, colors and animals, which is a significant advance for a child her age. We are still working on language, she pronounces some words, however, she still communicates with gestures and signs, leaving aside verbal communication.
To finish, the teacher looked for a cardboard containing different textures (pasta, grains, cotton, feathers, rice and foam rubber), the girl touched each element without fear, even the feathers that looked "somewhat" scary 😅, given the association with some animal, for example, a vulture. She definitely did not perceive that 😅.
These sessions have helped the little bee to stimulate her creativity and imagination. Of course, the work has been as a whole, at home she paints, sings, plays and learns. We remain committed to the evolution of the baby.
