From mountainous areas, rivers, plain of agricultural lands I will take you in fishing areas of Barangay Punta Silum. Zone 5 also known as "Likoon" or Curvy in English term is located at the coastal area of Barangay Punta silum. Most of the residents here are fishermen and they also owned small boats made of light materials just like plywoods, lumbers and bamboos used for fishing. Zone 5 is facing towards Panguil Bay and a perfect place fishing ground, in fact 50% of the fish that sell to the market place are came from here. The coastal areas is filled with lots of corals and big stones sunked to the sea water and lots of small fish, shrimps and crabs lives and hid in the stones.
Approximately there are 150 small boats here at the coast and each boat contains lots of unique designs and colorful paints to make it more attractive. A serial numbers also wrote so it can easily identified by owner. Small boats are place nearby sea waters so it can easily carried to the sea water when it sails. This small boats are very helpful and important to all fishermen so they can be abled to sail to the sea when they Go fishing.
Coastal areas is also filled with lots of big and tall trees, it helps the place to become cool and relaxing because of the shady areas. Most of the people who visited this place decided to put tents and do a picnics spend a day here. It keeps the place more greeny views and to keep the visitors away from intense heat from the sun. Every summer season, lots of tourists and visitors went here to have a great beach adventure and do boating riding using the small boats.
Tropical trees like coconuts also grows in the place but some of it are not really planted by land owner. Some of the coconut trees only grows here many years already and it came from Sea floated and ended here. Most of the coconut trees are already produced lots of buko fruits, most of the tourist came here likes to climb coconut trees and get some buko fruits with the permission of the land owner. All of the coconut trees leaning towards the sea because of the strong winds happens here every bad weather or storms. But despite of that, it helps the place to become more attractive and relaxing because of the coconut trees.
Because most of the houses are built near at the shoreline, they decided to built this strong and long concrete walls. Big rocks filled together and arranged properly before putting the concrete. This concrete walls was built 5 years already and it helps the place to prevent any erosions brought by big waves.
This wide deep sea water is the fishing ground in fact there are lots of fishermen and their boats sailing in here everyday morning and afternoon to get lots of fish. Different kinds of fish catched in here and also a perfect areas to do swimming specially every summer season. Near at this areas is the fish sanctuary of Manticao were some light structures built at the middle of the sea.
According to the residents, this ide areas here was a Fish port but it was already sunked leaving those metal and rusty structure sunked at the sea water. Every low tide, this place will be seen at the surface were lots of debri materials like and old structure and big corals can be seen. Crustuceans and other kinds of sea water animals hiding on the rocks here.
This big rocks was pilled on thd old sunken port that time and as the rough waves splashing for many years, some of the structures broke down and washed away. Some of it are scattered to the shoreline and already covered with seaweeds. This site is one of the of the best place to visit especially those who loves beach traveling.
