RE: Saturday Morning Disc Golf: Kenwood Heritage Park Round 2

That is a pretty cool hobby! I've never played before, just regular golf. Are there different types of throwing disks you can use? Premium disks for longer flight? I could see struggling with 300 yards. When I was in my 20's I could drive a golf ball 300 yards when I teed off. I'm not even close to that anymore, age catches up to! lol

That is a beautiful area and you got some nice pictures. That fungus long is pretty cool!

It's actually 300 feet. I apologize if it said yards. The distances are quite a bit shorter than traditional golf. They have all kinds of discs and different kinds of plastics as well as different weights. Each of those things factor in how the disc flies and behaves. It's actually pretty interesting when you really dig into it. For example, I have two discs, same disc, different plastic and they fly totally different from each other.

Now that is cool! I would have thought that there would be different disks for different distances, probably even for atmospheric differences like humid vs dry air. One of these days I'll have to give it go, I'll just have to find a place around here that offers it!

I'm sure there are a ton of courses near you if you were to look. They even have courses in Africa and places you would never expect! Some people just play with a driver, midrange, and putter and they are fine. Other people pull around carts full of discs with them.
