Friends of #Worldmappin, I wish you a great week, full of good energy and beautiful moments. Mine is going very well, combining work with the blessings this wonderful island has to offer. It is a privilege to be able to enjoy unique landscapes while fulfilling my responsibilities. This week, almost all my steps have been directed mainly to the Sunsol Ecoland hotel, which has given me the opportunity to explore and discover beautiful corners in the municipality of Gómez, which have left me completely enchanted.
On this occasion, I want to share with you a place that has fascinated me, a beautiful canal that leads to La Playa lagoon.
Amigos de #Worldmappin, les deseo una semana genial, llena de buenas energías y momentos bonitos. La mía va muy bien, combinando el trabajo con las bondades que ofrece esta maravillosa isla. Es un privilegio poder disfrutar de paisajes únicos mientras cumplo con mis responsabilidades. Esta semana, casi todos mis pasos han estado dirigidos principalmente al hotel Sunsol Ecoland, lo que me ha dado la oportunidad de explorar y descubrir hermosos rincones en el municipio Gómez, que me han dejado completamente encantada.
En esta ocasión quiero compartir con ustedes un lugar que me ha fascinado, un hermoso canal que da entrada a la laguna La Playa.
It is an extremely beautiful place, which looks like something out of a postcard. This canal has a small bridge that connects to Pedro Luis Briceño Avenue. According to a friendly local, this bridge is known as the “pelican bridge,” and the name couldn't be more apt. At the bottom of the bridge, just where the canal narrows, many pelicans gather and wait patiently for the fishermen to arrive. It is traditional for the fishermen to give them a few sardines, and the pelicans, wise and patient, are well aware of the routine.
This canal is widely used by local fishermen, who use it as a landing stage for their boats. The entrance to the lagoon offers them a safe haven, as their boats are protected from strong tides. It is a strategic point and, at the same time, a corner full of life. The curious thing is that this canal is right next to Zaragoza Beach, a beach I have visited several times, but I had never noticed that this hidden treasure was right next to it.
Es un lugar sumamente hermoso, que parece sacado de una postal. Este canal tiene un pequeño puente que conecta con la avenida Pedro Luis Briceño. Según me comentó un amable lugareño, este puente es conocido como el "puente de los pelícanos", y el nombre no podría ser más acertado. En la parte baja del puente, justo donde el canal se estrecha, se reúnen muchos pelícanos que esperan pacientemente la llegada de los pescadores. Es tradición que estos les regalen un poco de sardina, y los pelícanos, sabios y pacientes, ya conocen bien la rutina.
Este canal es muy utilizado por los pescadores locales, quienes lo emplean como embarcadero para sus lanchas. La entrada a la laguna les ofrece un refugio seguro, ya que sus embarcaciones quedan protegidas de las fuertes mareas. Es un punto estratégico y al mismo tiempo un rincón lleno de vida. Lo curioso es que este canal está justo al lado de la playa Zaragoza, una playa que he visitado en varias ocasiones, pero jamás me había percatado de que a su lado se encontraba este tesoro escondido.
All the edges of the canal are covered with large stones and some vegetation, giving it a rustic, natural look that I love.
Todos los bordes del canal están cubiertos con grandes piedras y algo de vegetación, lo que le da un aspecto rústico y natural que me encanta.
I decided to walk along the canal, letting myself be carried away by curiosity and the charm of the place. When I reached the end, where the small bridge is located, I was thrilled to see some boats already anchored there. It was an image that filled me with joy and peace. As always, nature gives me unique moments. On the bow of one of the boats was a large pelican, majestic and serene, which seemed to be posing for me. I didn't hesitate to capture that moment with my lens. It was a very special moment, a silent connection between nature and me, which reminded me why I love exploring these places so much.
Decidí bordear el canal, dejándome llevar por la curiosidad y el encanto del lugar. Al llegar al final, donde se encuentra el pequeño puente, me emocioné al ver algunos botes ya anclados. Fue una imagen que me llenó de alegría y mucha paz. Como siempre, la naturaleza me regala momentos únicos, en la proa de una de las embarcaciones había un gran pelícano, majestuoso y sereno, que parecía posar para mí. No dudé en capturar ese instante con mi lente. Fue un momento muy especial, una conexión silenciosa entre la naturaleza y yo, que me recordó por qué amo tanto explorar estos rincones.

Here, you will find everything you need to disconnect: good weather, fresh air, soft sand, and bright sunshine. It is a place that invites contemplation, rest, and adventure. In addition, it is very close to other tourist attractions in the municipality of Gómez, making it an ideal stop for those who want to learn more about the island.
