Today I explored a new part of the city; I walked down Santa Rosa Avenue and admired the gardens at every turn, then strolled along Miranda Avenue until I reached Jose Marti Square, and finally made my way to Andres Bello Avenue. I enjoy taking in the scenery at every turn and noticing its different nuances.
I used to enjoy walking along Miranda Avenue because of the many shops along the street. There are two large supermarkets and three hardware stores, as well as Chinese restaurants and the eye-catching entrance to the Los Chaimas neighborhood—places to satisfy my curiosity as the evening sets in. I believe that the blend of the urban and the natural can create beautiful scenes when captured from the right perspective.
The sky changed suddenly; a thick blanket of clouds hid the sun, but before long, blue once again reigned over the horizon. After visiting the hardware stores and building-supply shops, I arrived at Jose Marti Square. This area is home to several elementary and secondary schools, as well as an art academy located on Andres Bello Avenue.
Admittedly, it’s easier to take a direct route along Gran Mariscal Avenue or Bolivar Street, but I like to take alternate routes to break up the routine. Besides, the sunset is best enjoyed with the beach as a backdrop. From Andres Bello Avenue, you can admire the colorful spectacle the sun offers as it sets—one of the most spectacular and hopeful views to be found in eastern Venezuela.

Antes me gustaba caminar por la Avenida Miranda debido a la cantidad de locales comerciales que se encuentran en la vía. Desde la Avenida Andrés Bello se puede ir contemplando el colorido espectáculo que el sol nos brinda cuando se está ocultando, una de las vistas más espectaculares y esperanzadoras que se pueden encontrar en el oriente venezolano.
