Exploring the Pier Area (Eng/Esp)

in Worldmappinyesterday (edited)

English version

Now the journey takes us to the west side of the beach, where you can see a dilapidated pier and go beyond what the eye can see from the eastern lookout point. The path along the shore leads to a vacation home that was unoccupied at the time. Curiosity got the better of me, so I started walking in that direction. My heart was racing because it was my first time venturing into that area, and even though part of the path was destroyed, I managed to make my way across and continue my exploration.

From this side, the view is even more breathtaking, especially because the beach appeared from a different perspective. I felt small in the face of the immensity of the sea and the mountains, both coming together to create a scene worthy of an unforgettable postcard—one that will not only remain etched in my memory but also be preserved as images for posterity.

As I walked, I noticed some fishing nets, reinforcing the idea that Tocuchare is a fishing community that uses different techniques to catch marine species. At that hour, only two boats were visible on the horizon; most were sheltered and without engines, waiting for nightfall to resume fishing.

Behind the pier, a distinctive tree stands on the shore; there, some children were playing, running all over the place and diving onto the beach. Without a doubt, the children are the heart and soul of this place—their smiles warm the heart. The contrast among the homes was striking; several buildings were boarded up, and through the windows, it was clear they hadn’t been lived in for quite some time.

The children used every available space to play. When I reached the edge of this area, to continue further I would have had to walk along the beach, risking being swept by the waves against the concrete. I decided then to stay right there and take in the scenery while enjoying the children’s laughter—that vital energy and restless spirit that characterizes these children of the sea.
