Walking along the beach is something I enjoy; in fact, I prefer this scenery to mountains, although I’m also happy to go hiking if I’m in good company. When it comes to adventures, I’m all in—the adrenaline rush and the chance to explore are two things that really satisfy me. Connecting with nature will always be a great plan for me if it means taking in incredible scenery and discovering new plants and animals.
This time I sank my feet into the sand at The Peñon Beach. This is a tourist area, so there are always lots of people taking a dip or enjoying the other attractions, including seafood stalls, cockfights, pool, and even karaoke—all designed to please even the most discerning tastes.
I gazed out at the sea from a churuata, and the view brought back memories of my childhood, when my family used to gather here to celebrate our birthdays. The ocean waves were accompanied by a sense of longing for those days. At the same time, I could see the other coast, with its characteristic majesty.
An unexpected visitor was waiting for me near the shore—a sea hare. It looked quite slimy and lacked rhinophores, so it must have been a young specimen. I watched as its gelatinous body pulsed. Since it was out of the water, I carefully returned it to its habitat.
When I looked around, I saw several insects fluttering near that spot. I couldn’t tell what they were, so I took a photo and, with the help of AI, I learned that I was looking at tiger beetles, which are very common on this beach, as it’s an ideal place for them to hunt other insects at high speed.
I was also able to capture some beautiful birds flying high above; seagulls and shearwaters could be seen against the vast blue sky. I enjoyed returning to this beach, reminiscing about happy times, and continuing to collect smiles, for the sea still possesses that healing power that soothes the soul.

Me quedé observando cómo latía con su cuerpo gelatinoso. Como estaba fuera del agua con mucho cuidado la devolví a su hábitat.
Al girar la mirada vi a varios insectos revoloteando cerca de este lugar, no distinguía que eran, así que tomé una fotografía y con ayuda de la AI pude saber que estaba en presencia de escarabajos tigres, los cuales son muy frecuentes en esta playa, pues es un espacio ideal para cazar a otros insectos a gran velocidad.
También pude capturar a unas hermosas aves volando en lo alto, gaviotas y tijerejas se dejaban ver en la inmensidad de lo azul. Me gustó volver a esta playa, recordar momentos gratos y continuar coleccionando sonrisas, pues el mar sigue teniendo ese poder curativo que sana heridas.
