Visit Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Have Concept Modern and Traditional Building

in Worldmappin10 months ago (edited)
hello everyone, how are you all? You know that I traveled to Aceh some time ago. I still have stories from the places I visited. I shared a place, Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport. I was quite amazed by this airport building.

This airport was rebuilt in 2007, then. This airport was also affected by the tsunami. In 2007, the concept of this building brought modern Aceh with the addition of a traditional impression. This building has an area of around 14,144 square meters. Built on 3 floors and able to accommodate 1700 million passengers per year.

I want to return to Aceh again, hopefully, I will have another opportunity. This airport has a design like a mosque. The Modern Aceh concept is characterized by Islamic nuances, like the Aceh concept. In Indonesia, Aceh is known as a province that is closely linked to the Islamic religion. Aceh was also the place where Islam first spread.

The Islamic value of this airport is that there are three domes, which are considered to resemble a mosque. Apart from that, Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport won the World's Best Airport for Halal Travellers. This is a matter of pride for Indonesia. I want to tell you about this airport. The name of this airport is taken from the name of the national hero from Aceh, Sultan Iskandar Muda.

Apart from that, this airport also began to be built during the Japanese colonial era, 1943. This airport was not named directly as Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport. In the past, this airport was called Blang Bintang Airport. Then, in 1953, this airport was handed over to the Indonesian government. This airport also underwent expansion 3 times, to answer national needs.

Currently, this airport serves the departure of Hajj pilgrims. After being hit by the tsunami, this airport was re-inaugurated in 2009. That's my story about this airport. What do you think? is this interesting? Sorry, I didn't take photos from the front of the airport. Because I come at night and leave at dawn. So, the sky is still dark.
