Day trip to the capital of Georgia
"No preamble today" — none
Today I want to share with you a trip I took last week when I went to the capital of Georgia. My companions and I visited this beautiful city for the first time. Walking through the historical center, we came across very original and distinctive architecture... There are many houses here that have been completely restored, but have retained their original historical appearance. You can see houses that have not been touched by the hand of a restorer.
The facades of the houses are unique, many of them are decorated with carved wooden elements, figured shutters and ceramic tiles. It’s great that the historical center of the city retains its original appearance! We liked that Tbilisi, despite the many new modern buildings being built, still retains the original details of its unique history.
We saw many cafes and restaurants here. Here you can try the famous Georgian cuisine....
No historical center can do without souvenir trade. There are many small souvenir shops and kiosks here. I would like to note the originality of the products. In our era of globalism, when we see the same souvenirs in any tourist center, it is not easy to find original goods.
We went up to the symbol of the city, to the monument to King David. There is a beautiful view from here. Then we crossed the river and headed to the Turkish bath complex. We climbed to the very top to the citadel, from where we had a beautiful view of the ancient city.
The general atmosphere in the city seemed leisurely to us. There is no bustle typical of other big cities. People are calm and friendly.
When you walk along the streets of this city, your sense of smell will catch the aromas of fried meat and invigorating mulled wine. We couldn't resist the temptation and took a couple of mugs of aromatic hot wine
A charming cat decided to join us. Unfortunately, we had nothing to treat our furry friend with.
We really wanted to try real Georgian kebab. Our driver said that he did not recommend eating in the center because of the high prices and suggested we go out of town. We went to a cafe where the great poet once stayed. Well, it’s wonderful how we are worse than a poet!
It's a pity that we had so little time for this beautiful city. We talked to each other that someday we would go to Tbilisi again
That,s all for today.
Stand by
Sincerely yours
...
