Hello my traveling friends, this time I want to show you a very special place that is located in the City of Havana, specifically in the Miramar neighborhood of the Playa municipality.
No one can imagine that just three blocks from Havana's north coast of the elegant Miramar neighborhood is a mountain that has 15 hectares with abundant vegetation called Monte Barreto Ecological Park.
It is a space of pure nature, where trees and wild plants abound and birds enjoy a true paradise.
It is an ideal place to spend a time of healthy recreation where we can have picnics contemplating nature accompanied by the music of the chirping of the birds, we can also exercise or sit to study or read pleasantly in the shade of the trees.
There are several ranchones that offer different foods and drinks. These ranchones harmonize with the environment because they are rustic constructions made entirely of wooden logs and guano roof, also the tables and chairs are made of wood. What I like the most is that our eyes delight in nature while we listen to the music of the birds, I really like to enjoy the silence that is only interrupted by the ambient sound.
One of the ranchones is dedicated to children, it is the Alegria Children's Ranchón, it is very spacious and ventilated, it is decorated with dolls and children's figures. This ranchón is intended for the celebration of birthdays and other related activities, where they are also combined with recreational games in the green areas, very pleasant and educational, where we teach children to love and take care of nature while playing in it.
I could see up close several dyed auras or also known as vultures, they were very pleasantly resting on the backs of the benches built of wood and distributed in the shade of the trees, I was able to take photos of them from afar, I tried to approach slowly, but they are very suspicious, they immediately took flight, I was sorry to interrupt their rest.
Mount Barreto owes its name to Jacinto Tomás Barreto y Pedroso, Count of Casa Barreto who owned a wide region, then over the years the immense mountain was reduced by the construction of houses, mansions, hotels and elegant buildings while the neighborhood that we know today as Miramar developed.
Currently this space remained and is already protected due to its great importance from the ecological point of view since it functions as the lung of the city, its vegetation contributes to oxygenate the air by converting the CO2 that we expire into O2 through the mechanism of photosynthesis of plants.
In addition, it is a place of recreation beneficial to the health of everyone, both human beings and the flora and fauna that share this place.
It is a magical place because when you are walking through the city you suddenly find this natural paradise that makes you forget all your problems and you come out relaxed with your energies charged to face reality again.

MONTE BARRETO, área campestre en plena ciudad moderna
Hola mis amigos viajeros, en esta oportunidad quiero mostrarles un lugar muy especial que se encuentra en la Ciudad de La Habana, específicamente en el barrio de Miramar del municipio Playa.
Nadie puede imaginar que a solo tres manzanas de la costa norte habanera del elegante barrio de Miramar se encuentra un monte que tiene 15 hectáreas con abundante vegetación llamado Parque Ecológico Monte Barreto.
Es un espacio de pura naturaleza, donde abundan los árboles y las plantas silvestres y las aves disfrutan de un verdadero paraíso.
Es un lugar ideal para pasar un tiempo de recreación sana donde podemos hacer picnics contemplando la naturaleza acompañada de la música del trinar de las aves, también podemos hacer ejercicios o sentarnos a estudiar o leer placenteramente a la sombra de los árboles.
Hay varios ranchones que ofertan diferentes comidas y bebidas. Estos ranchones armonizan con el entorno porque son construcciones rústicas hechas completamente de troncos de madera y techo de guano, también las mesas y las sillas son de madera. Lo que más me gusta es que nuestra vista se deleita con la naturaleza a la vez que escuchamos la música de las aves, me gusta mucho disfrutar del silencio que es solo interrumpido por el sonido ambiental.
Uno de los ranchones está dedicado a los niños, es el Ranchón Infantil Alegría, es muy amplio y ventilado, está decorado con muñecos y figuras infantiles. Este ranchón está destinado a la celebración de cumpleaños y otras actividades afines, donde también se combinan con juegos de recreación en las áreas verdes, muy agradable y educativo, donde enseñamos a los niños a amar y cuidar de la naturaleza a la vez que juegan en ella.
Pude ver de cerca varias auras tiñosas o conocidas también como buitres, estaban muy placenteramente descansando sobre los espaldares de los bancos construidos de madera y distribuidos a la sombra de los árboles, pude tomarles fotos de lejos, intenté acercarme lentamente, pero son muy desconfiadas, enseguida levantaron vuelo, me dio pena interrumpir su descanso.
El monte Barreto debe su nombre a Jacinto Tomás Barreto y Pedroso, Conde de Casa Barreto que fue dueño de una amplia región, luego con el cursar de los años el inmenso monte se fue reduciendo por la construcción de casas, mansiones, hoteles y elegantes edificios mientras se desarrollaba el barrio que conocemos hoy como Miramar.
En la actualidad quedó este espacio y ya se encuentra protegido por su gran importancia desde el punto de vista ecológico ya que funciona como pulmón de la ciudad, su vegetación contribuye a oxigenar el aire mediante la conversión del CO2 que expiramos en O2 a través del mecanismo de fotosíntesis de las plantas.
Además, constituye un lugar de esparcimiento beneficioso para la salud de todos tanto de los seres humanos como de la flora y fauna que comparten este lugar.
Es un lugar mágico porque cuando vas caminando por la ciudad de pronto encuentras este paraíso natural que te hace olvidar todos los problemas y sales relajado con las energías cargadas para enfrentar nuevamente la realidad.
