It was the fourth day of February of this year, and I'd been through a hectic work schedule the days before as I was designated as a roving guard and later on a stationary post upon the start of the week.
Realizing that I will be on a day off on the following day, I thought of finding a place of which I can be able to give myself some sort of a escape to be away from my usual environment even for a short period of time. It was then that I remembered a Facebook post about a newly opened accomodation establishment named Glowbu Kabins owned by couple @vegangambler and @bloghound (a province mate of mine who live in the adjacent town), who became a good friend of mine that I came to know through the Hive platform, who happened to be a cousin of one of my classmates from grade school to highschool. So I sent her a message if I can visit her place and asked her if there is a spot on their property for hanging a hammock so I have some place to spend the night then wander on the beach the day after.. yes, I am that kind of an adventurous digital nomad! Her initial response was there is no designated place yet to hang a hammock as the establishment is newly opened on January and the
cabins are already fully booked. So I replied that I will come next time because I am still on a tight budget and all I need is a simple way to escape from the hustles and bustles of a single income earner individual like me. And I put that visit on hold and instead I headed for home. I dropped by to a convenience store to have myself a bottle of San Miguel flavored beer, a stuff of which I rarely have nowadays, to quench the thirst that I feel from within that is brought by being busy during the previous days. That was in that time my phone beeped and I received a message from @bloghound asking me if I can still come and visit their place. So I headed for home, took a bath then change my clothes and rented a tricycle that will bring me to the town proper so I can ride a jeepney that will take me to Glowbu Kabins.
After disembarking from the jeepney, I browsed the Google map on my phone and I learned that I will only take about five minutes to walk my way to Glowbu Kabins.
However, the supposedly five minutes walk became longer as I overshoot a crossing which will bring me to the site. And instead I headed to the other establishment near the beach!
I once again browsed Google map on my phone, this time turned my phone's volume louder so I can hear the voice prompts of what direction I will have to take and sent a message to @bloghound that I am getting near.
Finally, I am in the right place and met @vegangambler and @bloghound right after to send their warm welcome as I entered the premises of Glowbu Kabins.
Though it was dark when I arrived to the place, I can feel the very welcoming atmosphere of the place. No loud music as I can even hear the sound of crickets nestled at the surroundings, and yes, the outline of the A-shaped cabins is so very inviting.
However, it is quite early for me to sleep I made myself a mug of coffee that is accessible beside the reception area and sat at the chill zone located in front of the cabins as I want to feel the comforting serene atmosphere.
Then it's time for me to sleep as I already calmed my senses to take the much awaited rest that I need so I went to cabin #01, the place that I can call as my hibernation den.
As I opened the door, I was greeted by the uniquely shaped triangular interior brought by the A-frame architecture, the type of architectural design that is popular in the Philippines and most of the Asian countries. I was impressed by the simplicity and compact accent of the interior, which gives a minimalistic touch that highlights the sleeping area. A sense of calmness enveloped me as I saw the bed that is nearly covered in white linen, which promises a restful evening.
Then the morning came, and I was awakened by the melodic chirping of birds. I immediately went outside the cabin to witness the cheerful morning occurrence, and lo and behold! The atmosphere is as lively as the sun, though not visibly seen, creates a mesmerizing artwork in the sky as the clouds become so colorful as its golden glow passes through.
As the morning light became brighter, I was amazed at the environment that surrounds me, especially at the A-frame cabins that are made of sturdy bamboo splits for their interior walls and a pointed thatched roofing, which gives a cool, rustic, tranquil ambiance.
Then I went to the beach that is roughly about a six-minute walk from Glowbu Kabins to see what other points of interest lie nearby, and I saw the neighboring Awesome Hotel as well as the P&M Final Option beach resort as I walked on the street.
At the beach, I can see the majestic rear view of Awesome Hotel on my left, while on my right is a surfing clinic adjacent to P&M Final Option beach resort that offers surfing lessons to visitors.
As the sunlight is getting warmer, I went back to Glowbu Kabins to take refuge and have a relaxing siesta before going home. The coolness from the inside of the cabin or cabana, to some, greeted me, and I can say that I can even enjoy my siesta even if the AC unit is not turned on!
The afternoon came, and I had to bid farewell to my newly found place of refuge, a very nice hibernation den for myself, as I said earlier, because I had to catch the ride going home to once again bring me to the rigors of the real world, but before that, I had to thank @vegangambler and his wife, @bloghound, for inviting me to visit their wonderful place.
That's all for now and thanks for giving your time reading my humble article. Have a nice day everyone!
