While transferring my photos and organizing yearly activities. It led me to rediscover the photos from our wonderful hiking adventures from 2023 of April.
The spring season finally started. It offered a peaceful transition after a long winter gray day. It was a new season of fresh beginning. Finally the cold days end. The season provided a mild atmosphere and a relief that finally urged us to step back into the sun.
It was my husband, our dog Kubino and I who decided to go on a hiking trip to Burda. Cool weather, the trees were beginning to grow new leaves. The weather was not sunny and not gloomy, something in between. In the same month of April we ended up going there twice.
The first trip felt spontaneous, we quickly packed only what we needed and left the village behind. We drove all the way to our destination. We enjoyed the winding roads with beautiful scenic views.
When we arrived, we parked our car. This photo was taken right before the actual hiking began. In a rural electric train track. During our first visit, my husband walked beside me. Our dog was very excited and seemed to enjoy the view.
We both enjoyed the quiet of the forest. While walking, spring was slowly waking up. Even though the leaves were not fully out yet, their branches made little patterns in the sky.
My husband walked beside me and we moved through the woods letting the silence of the place be interrupted by the unseen sound of the birds, gentle whisper of the wind and the sound of our footsteps.
While walking, I found a beautiful flower that stood proudly in the spring season. It was spring the adonis (Adonis vernalis) and it was like a treasure into the woods. It brings an instant warmth to the cool ground amidst the dried leaves and damp soil around it. The bright bloom appearance makes it worthwhile and it was fresh. And I don't like to miss the moment.
The view slowly began to open as we climbed higher. We could see the endless view of the Danube River. The water shimmered smoothly and it curved gently around the little towns and green fields. In the distance, the basilica crowned a distant hill. It stood proudly on a hill, with full of grace and timeless.
And we found a perfect spot when we reached the viewpoint. It felt so calm and perfect having a peaceful rest seeing the breathtaking view. I asked my husband to capture the moment while our dog simply watched us from his spot in the dry leaves. It was the perfect moment for a break, we sat down and we enjoyed our sandwich.
We simply watched the beautiful landscape. And let the scenery be the perfect backdrop of our quiet break.
So a week later, we returned to the same place and back to hiking again. The weather was beautiful and there were more routes to discover and we wanted to explore more. And walking the same path felt familiar, grass was greener and the air felt warmer.
We enjoyed our peaceful hiking trip and our dog Kubino wagged his tail. He was happy at what he saw.
We reached the same viewpoint and the feeling was brand new. I sat again on a rock and asked my husband to took another photo. Capturing that moment, not just the scenery but also the simple joy being there.
It was a peaceful and refreshing hiking journey. Just us and watching the world slowly transform into a new season. An early spring walk that we love most.
Two visits, one place and we found something just as calm, peaceful and meaningful. Memories that still make me smile and the time together made the days unforgettable.
