It was just last month when my friends and I decided to spend a night at Kaway Resort and Spa after confirming our booking at El Mar Resort. But, I will write a separate blog about El Mar. Since we were traveling to the north of Cebu, they wanted to stay for two nights, but we couldn’t afford both nights at El Mar. That’s why we looked for another resort nearby, which led us to Kaway Resort.
We went on a Friday, so the resort was quiet and private, which is perfect for a relaxing stay. I think there were only three families, including ours, who stayed overnight, making the whole experience more exclusive and serene.
The resort itself was a hidden gem. Kaway Resort is also famous as the Maldives of Cebu because of its floating cottages with direct access to the beach. We could literally jump into the sea right outside our room—just make sure it's high tide! It featured a calm and relaxed ambiance, ideal for relaxing, and was tucked away from the typical congested beaches. The place was surrounded by a lot of greenery, and the sea breeze made it even more peaceful.
The pool was one of the best parts of our visit because my daughter had the best time splashing and playing in the water. It was spacious and well-maintained, and since there weren’t many guests, she practically had it all to herself. Our trip was made even more memorable by seeing her laugh and enjoy every moment.
Aside from the relaxing vibe, the resort also had cozy accommodations and friendly staff who made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. We had the best time watching the sunset with my friends while enjoying our drinks. The view was beautiful, and it was the perfect way to end the day.
We were too tired to go out for dinner, so we decided to dine at their restaurant while my daughter enjoyed playing in their play area with Zaki, my friend’s son, who is younger than Zadie.
Overall, our weekend at Kaway Resort and Spa was exactly what we needed—a simple yet memorable getaway with family. If you're looking for a peaceful escape where you can just relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, visiting on a weekday might be the best way to experience it.
