Hello everyone,
I would like to share my unexpected trip. Sometimes, the best moments in life are the ones we don’t plan. Last weekend was one of those rare times when we just wanted to break free from the noise of city life, even just for a few hours. At 5:00 AM, still half-asleep and without a clear destination in mind, we packed ourselves into the car. No maps. No itinerary. Just a shared desire to breathe fresh air and leave behind the heaviness we didn’t even realize we were carrying.
We drove aimlessly, letting the road decide for us. As the city lights faded in the rearview mirror and the air grew colder, our hearts felt lighter. That’s when we found ourselves at Sonnen Berg Mountain View in Buda, Davao City—a place we didn’t plan for but now feels unforgettable.
The moment we stepped out of the car, we were greeted by a view that took our breath away. Rolling mountains stretched as far as our eyes could see, kissed by the golden glow of the rising sun. The air was crisp and cool, brushing against our faces like a gentle embrace. For a second, it felt as if we were standing at the edge of heaven.
We couldn’t help but pause and take it all in. The silence was beautiful—only the whisper of the wind and the soft rustle of leaves kept us company. We laughed like children, snapping photos of everything: the mountains, the sunrise, and, of course, ourselves. Each picture captured the joy we hadn’t felt in weeks.
With hands wrapped around steaming cups of hot chocolate and bites of sticky, sweet suman, we sat watching the sun slowly climb the sky. Time seemed to slow down as we talked about everything and nothing, letting go of the stress and negativity that clung to us in the city.
It’s funny how an unplanned trip can heal your soul in ways you didn’t know you needed. Sonnen Berg is more than just a place—it’s an experience. It reminded us that sometimes, all you need is an early morning drive, good friends, and a bit of courage to let the road surprise you.
We came here tired, but we left lighter, happier, and grateful for life’s little detours. If you’re ever feeling overwhelmed, maybe it’s time to just get in the car and see where the road leads. You might just find your own slice of heaven, like we did.
Thank you for reading.
